Default acne scars

My name is Sofia, I'm 23. I've suffered from acne since I was about 15.
My worst was when I was about 16-17. I was treated by a dermatologist and it cleared most of it, but after a while it started to come back. He suggested taking birth control pills, but I do not want to do anything to afftect my body's natural cycle.
I have stopped any meds after that, that was when I was about 17. I haven't taken any meds after that, at all, not even aspirin, I am all for natural/holistic way.
My acne is a lot better, I don't break out that often, usually around that time of the month. I take care of myself, try to buy organic food as much as I can. I eat healthy, fruit, veggies, I try to drink plenty of water (Im not much of a drinker so that's a challenge for me). I don't eat junk food.
I treat skin with natural lotions, etc.
I use a skin scrub about 3 times a week, a soap specially made for acne everyday or every other day, and take a multivitamin product designed for mild acne patients, I got them all at the natural store. I also use a moisturizing cream every day.
It seems to be helping a lot. But I was wondering if you new of any natural treatment for the scars, I don't have deep scars. Mostly mild marks, but I don't want them to be there at all.
Any advice on this or any additional product to prevent blemishes would be great. My skin isn't oily at all, it is sensitive, so I can't use just any product.
The thing with acne products is that most of them are made for oily skin, and since that is not my case my skin gets irritated, so I had a hard time finding the products I use now.
Thanks in advance!
Sofia

Hi Sofia. Would you mind sharing exactly what products you use?
You need to be careful. It's best not to put anything at all on your acne. Sometimes when you think it's clearing your face, in reality it is suppressing your acne. Then the problem may end up going deeper.
In homeopathic view, your acne is a sign of an inner 'disturbance.' It most likely has a miasmic cause. (That's sort of like saying that it's hereditary.) If you were to be treated by a homeopath, they would need to take into account all of your symptoms (emotional, mental and physical). If others will reply, they'll tell you to find a good homeopath in your area. Sometimes it's easier said than done . But if you do find a good one, you won't be sorry. Best of luck to you!
Here are two links of homeopath directories organized by state: http://www.homeopathic.org/find.htm
http://www.homeopathy-cures.com/search.html

P.S. My mother's name is Sofia, too. It's pretty.

Dear Sofia, yes tanstar is correct if a dermatologist has treated your acne this means it has been suppressed not cured. I'm sure it will return if not that it may have compromised a weak organ.
By detoxing you body (meaning inside and outside) you should have more lasting results.
In chinese medicine the face is a patern for all the organ functions, such as the nose area indicates the heart, the cheeks indicate the lungs........etc. So where the acne was located is usually an indication of what organ is your weak organ. Hope this makes any sense.
Not to alarm you but a old friend of myn tookloads of acutane/antibiotics for her teen acne prescribed by her dermatologist. Yes it went away. When she was older she wanted a family/baby..........not happening! her female reproductive organs were not functioning properly.(in her case her acne was on her chin= reproductive organs)

She ended uphaving to adopt.
This is just one example of how 'suppression' of any skin ailment can do harm to the rest of your body.

Sorry for the late reply, I was out of towns, I wasn't sure if we were allowed to mention brands that is why I didn't mention in detail what Im taking.
I take Akne-Zyme , here's the info on this product
http://www.evitamins.com/product.asp?pid=3854

I also use the soap by the same brand
http://www.evitamins.com/product.asp?pid=3990

Usually about every other day. I use Dessert Essence scrub about 2 or 3 times a week .
http://www.internatural-alternative-...ingr170210.cfm

And I use Aveno Moisturizing cream every day.
As I said I have not taken any meds since I was 17, that's 6 yrs ago, I don't remember what I took but it was nothing strong, I was treated for a few months then I stopped, and since then I have been doing it the "natural way" .
What you say about treating it internally makes sense. In fact when was 14 I was sick, the drs didn't know what it was but it was something in my lungs. It was at a time in my life where I had a lot of stress and change (I moved from Argentina to the US), I am certain that is why I got sick, but anyway, that is where I mostly brake out when I do, my cheeks, nobody in my family had acne, except for the normal teenage breakout. My mother and sister have awesome skin, lucky them!!
I am the youngest of 3. Other than the mild acne, I am very very healthy, rarely get sick, I am active, etc.
As I said, it is almost completly gone, but I do want it to be gone completly, I have tried so many things it is frustrating...
Thanks for the links, I will look through them and see what I can find.
I just wanted to see if you knew of something to get rid of the mild scars.

Thanks again!

Sofia,
you definately should not be using that soap. It contains Sulphur and you should not be applying that topically onto the skin. That suppresses acne and that's not a good thing. It could push the disease inward, toward more important organs.
