Default Natural Science

Governing bodies, doctors, patients belong to Homoeopathy. Homoeopathy being a natural science belongs only to Nature.

Talking UK Regulation

Hi there
In the UK, regulation of Homeopathy is a hugely contentious issue... the Society of Homeopaths are in discussion and seem to be completely up in arms about coming under a single register with other 'possibly lesser' registering organisations.
The argument seems to centre on the use of RSHom status (which lets face it is all you actually receive for all that money fed to the society) being pretty much worthless when CORH have finished with the regulatory system and possibly brings in an overall status for everyone.
There are currently nine organisations which 'register' homeopaths in the UK. They vary considerably in terms of size and range of activity. Some bodies register only homeopaths, some hold multi-therapy registers. Organisations differ considerably in terms of the standards and requirements for registration - ranging from the payment of a fee only, to being required to meet a range of professional and educational standards. This means that there is not necessarily any correlation between registration and levels of education and/or standards of homeopathic practice. In addition, given that homeopathy 'education' can range from a three year full-time or four year part-time degree programme to a weekend 'course' or some voluntary self directed home study, the issue of minimum standards of preparation is key within the context of the reulation debate.
So in short we don't have a regulatory or governing body in the UK at the moment, but we are moving in leaps and bounds towards it. The address below will give you more indication of whats happening and updates as to where we are regarding regulation at this point
