All,

My father seems to have a constant cold/runny nose. He has this problem for nearly 3 years.

He seems to cough up this sticky white sputum (as we do when a cold starts). He say's something builds up in his throat/chest area - this makes him cough and then out it comes. His nose is also constanly blocked and runs constantly.

We've got him to see various doctors, but with no success.

Is there anybody on this forum that can help?

Dear Singh,if the problem has gone on for 3 yrs its considered chronic and needs to be looked at by a trained classical homeopath in your area. There are many great homeopaths in the UK please stay tuned perhaps you can get a referral for the Uk area. Homeopathy can help without suppression of symptoms via harmfull allopathics,as i have seen often many end up taking antibiotics for this problem and this gets you no-where,in fact it will make your immune system even worse prolonging the original problem by suppression.

Thanks for your replies.

He hasn't any problems before this, however was and still taking hypertension tablets (valsartan) - he changed the type of tablet 3 times. He started taking the tablets about 6 months before the problem started.

We don't know if its an allergy because his diet/environment has not changed very much since the problem has started - but it might be investigating in this area. Are there any tip/best practices to go by when diagnosing anything in this area?

He says it may have been caused from a time when he visted India - his bed was near an air cooling system (works using water - not AC), he slept in the same room for about a week and problem started there after.

He says he gets a wheezing sound coming from the lungs when he breathes out heavily, this causes a tickling feeling in the throat area- which makes him cough. Along with the cough, he also sneezes and has watery eyes from time to time.

it becomes really bad when:

* There is tempreture change i.e. when walks from inside the house to outside

* He exercises

So it is not the simple CONSTANT COLD/RUNNY NOSE as you reported in the begining. The nose, the throat, the bronchus, the lungs all are involved.

You further report that he takes tablets for hypertension.

You have to record all the relevant (to health) information at one place.

The piecemeal approach (taking valsartan tablets for hypertension and Homoeopathy for runny nose) will not help, as you know, you have taken him to various doctors for no good.

CONSTANT STUFFY NOSE

There a virus out there that seems to produce a constant stuffy and runny nose, as well as overall fatigue, depression and loss of motivation, and sometimes severe generalized anxiety. It sometimes causes weak legs.

I caught this virus, and it has still not cleared up, even after many years. It stays in the body persistently.
