Default Help with vaginal yeast infections

Hi,
Wondering if there is someone out there who can help me with a yeast infection that refuses to go away, except by using allopathic cream treatment.

I was on antibiotics for 5 days in November 2005, and within 2 weeks I had the worse infection of my life (3 others in whole life)
I don't often have yeast infections, so I tried to treat it naturally - with acidophilus, applying live yogurt, oregano oil, lots of vitamin C, restricting all sugar, dairy and yeast as well as yeast forming fruits and veggies - nothing touched it. It got so bad that I felt like I was on fire, I was bleeding and wanted to castrate myself the pain was so bad I could barely walk.

Finally (after 3 weeks of agony and nothing working) I succumed to using an OTC topical cream which helped to take the burning away.
At the same time, I spoke to a homeopathic practicioner who recommended something, but I cannot figure out now what it was....I have several remedies I have tried to find on the Materia Medica, but they are not listed, and I am sure it was one of these that she recommended I take.

I have Mercurius Solubilis, Mercurius Corr, and Colubrina -- I am thinking it is one of the first ones - but I cannot remember. (I also have Metallum Album which I cannot find in the Materia Medica either)

Does anyone have any advice for me? I do not eat breads or pastas, and I limit my intake to minimal if any of sugar, dairy and yeast.

I was absolutely fine for years before taking this antibiotic, and now this yeast infection will not go away. It hurts to sit, stand and walk. My skin is open, raw and bleeding and feels like it is on fire.

I am willing to do anything at this point to put out the fire - anybody got any ideas for an extingusher, any help would be grately appreciated!

Thank you!

HI,
Please try serious homeopathic treatment from a reliable homeopathic practitioner. This condition requires long term management, as you can see that short term medication is not going to help. Suggesting off-had remedies amounts to just that, though you have given some local characteristics that point to a few remedies.

YOu would either need to see a homeopath personally or if you are too far away, find someone reccomended online. I think you can be helped.
ALl the best,
dr. leela

In addition to homeopathic treatment, use Acidophilus again and try using the brand name Culturelle, costs $20. Use it for approx. a month or so and the results should be to your liking.

In your previous use of Acidophilus, did you follow the directions on the label, which brand did you use, was it stored properly (refrigerated). The stabilized brands (which don't require refrigeration) are not as potent as the the non-stabilized ones.

Acidophilus reduces the chance of getting traveler's diarrhea, the result of changes in intestinal flora. It is also useful for anyone who takes antibiotics, especially the broad-spectrum ones like tetracycline and ampicillin, which wreak havoc on intestinal flora, and it's useful for women who have frequent vaginal yeast infections. The dose is one tablespoon of the liquid culture or one to two capsules after meals unless the label directs otherwise. To treat yeast infection, you can also place the liquid culture directly in the vagina in addition to taking it by mouth. Always check the expiration date on acidophilus products. You want to be sure the bacteria in them are alive and in good condition.

Default Rule out UTI first when treating yeast vaginitis

Anatomically, the urinary bladder is separated from the Cervix and the upper reaches of the vaginal tract by a mere fibrous membrane. Microbial spread from the urinary bladder in an ongoing or chronic urinary tract infection ( UTI ) perpetuates concomitant infection of the vaginal tract and the cervix. Please rule out any urinary tract infection first when you request treatment for microbial vaginitis. On the other hand, a chronic UTI may be due to a chronic cervicitis with low backache.

With regards
Lew
