Question Question about Silicea 6X

I'm new to homeopathic medicine and I was wondering if someone could tell me what Silicea 6X is made from and what it is used for. A friend told me it was a cure for boils. She said she had her boils for several years and tried all kinds of prescriptions from doctors but she never completely got rid of her boils until she took the Silicea 6X. I'm especially interested in what it is derived from. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you, Jani

If I remember right, you have to exercise caution while taking Silicea since it has the propensity to eject all foreign matter in the body like tooth fillings etc. So pl check it out.

HI

Your friend probably used a "tissue or cell salt " form of silicea. They are reletively safe to use because 6x is such a low dilution. Never the less silicea
is generally considered a deep acting remedy and therefore probably shouldnt be given indiscriminately-but then no remedy really should be. Silicea has a broad range of application for both acute and chronic states. There are alot of good books around that teach basic prescribing methods and working with tissue salts serves as a good intro to homeopathy.
