Question How to antidote

Hi,
I just want to know how to antidote a particular remedy (before starting on another remedy)with its antidote mentioned in remedy pictures, in what potency does the antidote need be taken and how many doses? Is there a standard rule?
Could you also tell me if a wrongly chosen remedy is taken, does it leave any lasting changes like some new symptoms still persisting? I just want to know how safe it is to take any remedy if it is not correctly chosen.

thank you very much,
Venkat.

If you are not too sensitive, there is no fear of getting unnecesary complications from a wrongly chosen remedy, if you stick to the advice of G.V, which is

Give a single dose, wait and watch for three weeks minimum.Repeat, if the symptoms come back.Take the case afresh, in case of no change, or, if the picture changes.

He also, condems the practice of antidoting the effects of the homeopathic remedy, with another homeopathic remedy (if chosen, only because it is mentioned as an antidote in literature). The best way to antidote, if required, is to take the case, afresh, and administer the suitable remedy to match the present picture.

The other way of antidoting is to drink several cups of strong black coffee, in a day, which may be useful in some cases.

The above applies to non serious chronic cases, which won't threaten the life of the patient, even if you make a mistake while choosing the medicine.

Giving lists in books is different from actuallly practicing it?

Did you observe that , each author, mentions a different set of medicines as antidotes? Worse still, some medicines listd as antidotes by x, are given as inimicals by y.

I still firmly say, the best way to antidote, is to take the symptoms afresh, and administer, the suitable remedy, to suit the present picture. Sometimes ,it so happens that, the previuosly given remedy is still indicated, but the suffering due to aggravations is great. If the patient can bear it out, he will be on the road to recovery. In such cases, the following information might be useful.

Dear Members

Hahnemann was aware about this situation. He gave advice in Org.: paragraph 162 -171.
Boenninghausen related to this situation in his article about the remedy relationships to be found on:
