Default sprained ankle--please help!!

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can help me, or my sister, actually. A few weeks ago my sister sprained her ankle from running down the stairsand tore a ligament. I gave her arnica (30) as a first aid, which helped the swelling initially. But, it is not healing now, and I was wondering what she could take to help it heal, before it becomes too chronic of a problem. It keeps swelling and is very sore. It gets sorer the more she walks on it. She even feels it when she is sitting. It feels better when she uses an ace bandage and wears sneakers. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Kelly

How many doses of Arnica 30 did you give?

For acute problems, a single dose is grossly insufficient. You should have given atleast one dose every two hours, and taper off gradually, after improvement sets in. It is normally recommended not to exceed 6 doses of any medicine, at a stretch.

If the problem got reduced, but still bothering you, then you should move on to the next follower, in this case, Rhustox, again a maximim of six doses, now, perhaps, once very 4 hours.

If the soreness is still there, even after Rhustox, you may have to move to Calc. carb, and perhaps to other medicines like ledum, hypericum etc.., later.

At every stage you have to treat as per the modified symptoms, and that is why, unless you are knoweldgeble enough, it is best to consult an exprienced homeopath.

Ruta or Rhus Tox are indicated based on teh pain modalities. I'd suggest first Ruta and see the response. You may need to use multiple doses a day - so plus the remedy in water.

Also check that there is no hairline fracture, because pain at rest with swelling suggests that possiblity. Hope this helps.

Default thanks

Gavin and Dr. Leela,

Thank you very much for your responses. I will have her try them. Is 30c the best dose? I really appreciate your help!

It depends on her sensitivity.
I think a 30C and watch her response is the best way to go.

If she is the sensitive type then a 6C in water 2-3 times a day would be better, especailly while there is acute pain. Once the pain stops, reduce the frequency as required.

Default As a believer

in high potencies - having used them on my self I would suggest a single dose of Bellis per 10m.

The stuff works wonders!.

Dear Mr. Passkey,

Would Bellis in high potency be able to heal torn ligament or a hairline fracture if one keeps the injured joint tied up with a crepe bandage?I have a friend who had twisted his knee very badly while playing TT. I treated him using remedies such as Arnica, Symphytum,
Ruta etc. The knee has almost healed but there is a small swelling on the right side of the knee cap which refuses to go away. Should i try Bellis 10M one dose and see.

Regards.

Rajiv

Default Yes

I think I would try just ONE tablet and wait at least 10 days to judge result.

Thanks. I would tell him to take one dose of Bellis 10M and report what happens, on this forum in a couple of weeks.
