I am very inexperienced with constitutional prescribing, but have been acute prescribing for many years. So be gentle, I know I've made a huge mistake.
A week ago my 7 mo old son was dosed with Calc. Carb. 200c under the care of his homeopathic physician. Yesterday, he seemed to be losing ground and getting worse, so in my ignorance, I assumed it was time for another dose as that is what I would have done with a lower potency. He is now overdosed, as I understand that Calc. Carb. is a very long acting remedy, and that I should have watched and waited. I assume he will be proving the remedy for some time to come. Have I ruined him? Is he now incurable? Is there anything I could antidote it with to stop the aggravation? |

Unless your son has a terminal illness, one dose will not casue that much of damage.
The best thing to do in such a situation is to take courage and trust that this is a phase that will pass in a couple of days at the most. Most of our aggravations dont' last more than that. Its possible to resist them with ones will - i.e. avoid emotionally succumbing to their effects.

Thank you so much! He has bad eczema/impetigo, which of course is not terminal. I was feeling like I would have to wait an entire month or more with this hideousness going on, not being able to stop it no matter what I do. I feel that I have ruined him for homeopathy though, so we are going to try something called NMT which I've had great success with in the past.

Agrre with Leela here . but would again hammer the provisio that 200c is a potency that often has a violent outcome.
Leave well alone in my opinion , he will eventually benefit freom the experience. Clarke does list Nux vom and Hep Sul as antidotes - but as Kent often advised " know when to sit on your hands" and do nothing. |
