Yes the Complete repertory has :
MIND; SEARCHING; floor, on: ign., plb., stram.

Here is someting on Ignatia:
Busy and restless; after exerting brain, aggravated mornings, unable to do anything as rapidly as he wishes, whereupon anxious behaviour, mistakes in writing and talking and awkward motions.

Beyond this is mere speculation - but possibly the state of grief or anxiety cause them to do awkward things - and end up searching on the floor for some answers - a purely unconscious need to locate something which is on the floor.

That's the closest explanation I can think of, especially if it has to be a characteristic enough to notice.
hope this helps,
dr. leela

This symptom is very likely in some cases of mania. For that matter

Why should anybody count pins?

Why should anybody talk to himself?

So,don't bother why a symptom is there in the repertory. If you find the symptom in your patient, use it,and see whether the rest of the symptoms match the drug given in the repertory.

Take a ful case, and reperterise. If any of these three medicines, come close, you can confidently use it.

We can't depend on this rubric alone,as these are only grade '1'.But,can be used for confirmation.

Hi Gien,
What would you be looking to treat in this case?

Well. There are a few traits of Nat.mur, and read it once again in different MMs.Perhaps you can start with Ignatia and move on to Nat.Mur.

Quote:
Problem - extreme shyness /embarrassment / low selfesteem

Dislikes / Fears eating in restaurant - people may see if she eats untidely
Can not use public restrooms - people may hear what she is doing
Will not see a docter for fear that she has to undress
Will not talk loudly in public / fears that other peole will hear her conversation
Dislikes physical contact even from her friend and family
(Wants platonic relationship)
Will not and does not expose her feelings / thoughts
Very mild, wants to please everone.
Gien, could you fill out details about each of these symtpoms? When did they first develop, if there was any causative factor for them developing and why? What are the situations where these are exprienced, and what is the intensity experienced? Why does she feel she had these attitudes?
Are there any physical sensations concomittant to this?

You will have to investigate the whole idea of "Fear" in her case from childhood.
thanks,
Dr. leela

Hi Gien,
Slicia was probably a close choice. Other remedies that are similar to it are Baryta Carb (chilly), Baryta Sulph (hot). Both express this timidity, embarassment and shyness. BUt they are not usually reserved.
Some aspect of the history even sounds like Hyoscyamus - maybe one needs to investigate why she is so reserved.

I think you could seriously consider Ambra Grisea. Investigate the rest room symptom a little more and it may be the Characteristic indication. The other public expressions may be variations of the same theme.

Here it is from Morrison:
Ambra Grisea has been used mainly in mental and emotional disorders. In early stage disorders it has marked introversion and shyness, followed later by silliness and marked loquacity (Remember what happened after you gave Ignatia? - Leela).
It has been used especially in cases of senility and mental impairment.

Mind.
<<Senility and premature senility>> (Alum, Bar-C, Plb, Sec).
ASKS QUESTIONS BUT DOES NOT WAIT FOR THE ANSWER BEFORE SAYING SOMETHING ELSE.
<<Silly loquacity.>>
<<Averse to company,>> especially stranger. Great shyness.
INTOLERANT OF COMPANY WHEN DEFECATING (can't pass stool or urine in the presence of the nurse, or if someone else is in the room or even the house or in a public restrooms).
<<Great sensitivity to noise and music.>>
Hysteria. Depression. Anxiety.

General.
<<General aggravation from noise and music.>>
General aggravation from company or participating in or hearing a conversation. (this is an extention of the bowel characteristic above which also seems to be present in your case - Leela)
Excitement, agitation and unable to sleep because of conversations or develops physical conditions such as a cough.
General aggravation from lying.
