Default green poo!

Hi there. I am in Sweden and I am not sure if there is a homeopath around me. I visited one while in London for my son's 'issue' but what was given didn't help. She said she would recommend something else if it didn't help but I can't get back there until my visa is processed. I was wondering if anyone could suggest somethign that I could order from Helios and try.
My son is 5mos, healthy, growing well. He is exclusively breastfed and not vaccinated. I took him to the homeopath for two issues: one was lingering sinus congestion (worse mornings, worse when eating/excited, better in cold air outside), an itchy left eye (worse when eating) and the other was chronic diarrhea. Since 3mos, he has had chronic green poo. Frequency is normal about every day or every other day, in the morning, but color and consistency aren't (green with green flecks and blobs). It also smells sour, like rancid milk. He only recently started teething (like last week) so I don't think that is it (tried Chamomilla just in case and it didn't help). The homeopath gave him medhorrhinum, and it has not helped either his congestion or his green poo. I am awaiting some books on homeopathy and children but they have not arrived. I read somewhere that podophyllum might help as well? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you very much!

It's a really good start to life that he's exclusively breastfed and you haven't vaccinated him.

Please don't 'try' remedies in desperation. We haven't taken his full case -- your homeopath has. Why not ring her - let her know what's happening and see if she can suggest something. Also, you need to let her know the baby has had Chamomilla so she can properly assess his case. She might post the remedy to you (or if not, she can at least prescribe what he needs and you can order it from helios or ainsworths).

Let us know how you get on.
Best wishes,
Lisa

Hi. My pregnancy was very very easy; no illness whatsoever. He was delivered two weeks 'early', I had a walking epidural. The delivery was fast and fierce, arriving about seven hours after labor started. I did not take antibiotics during my pregnancy (try to avoid them), and he has never had them either. He is unvaccinated, exclusively breastfed, and I may delay solids for a while. He (we) did have minor yeast infection, he was treated with gentian violet, I took difulcan for two days. This was at about two months? Recurrance was managed with my dietary change. He has been quite healthy (aside from this strange poo). He is a baby that tends to always feel and get warm, without any fever--we always have to be on the watch for him overheating becuase he gets intensely grouchy about it! The only 'events' since his birth (I am a SAHM atm, dad works part time) was a period of household stress about two months of age-I wouldn't have thought it would bother him but maybe it did? (We were trying to decide where to live, emigrate to the UK or to the US, sell which house, get which job, blah blah).

This said, I did speak with a homeopath yesterday and hopefully we have found a solution. I am curious to know what you'd suggest if you'd suggest anything-she is sending something and I am very eager to see how it goes. I am interested in learning more about how homeopathy functions and how practitioners decide on what to use, and follow threads here with great interest

Thanks!
Tracy

Default post reply to mom

hello mom
thanks for more info,i knew this 'green poo' problem was connected to some sort of yeast/candida infection on top of the medication you took via the breastmilk to the baby.
this problem will not go away unless you address that as a start.
but in homeopathy to take something for 'candida/yeast infection' only suppresses the ailment .
your homeopath will surely know all this and address it.
(do mention this post)

my suggestion for now....you will not like this.....no dairy of anysorts this feeds the yeast infection/candida growth and anti yeast medication taken by you.
perhaps soymilk or ricemilk..........

Hi there....I have continued to not eat dairy (which is a huge sacrifice, though getting easier as I get over the sugar cravings....) It has been a blessing in disguise, really-I realize how much I like soymilk . Here I have limited availablity for other dairy free items but soon we will be living in London with a huge health food center a block from us where I can get non dairy anything (that is also no sugar added)! Thanks for your post...I will let you know how the treatment goes, remedy should arrive int he post very soon!

Glad to hear you were able to follow up with your homepathy. I hope your son's problems are soon sorted. Best of luck with your impending move!
