Default How Did You Discover Homeopathy?

dear skeptic one
as a homeopath it has been frustrating to try and keep homeopathy above water in the field of alternative healing matters. But it has been around for over two hundred years now,in the usa this subject of homeopathy has difficulty making a indentation,in other countries such as India there is more acceptance for homeopathy (as well as in Europe)
If you ask any of the homeopaths on this forum if it works, naturally they will say 'yes' as i will........Many of us have allopathic backgrounds, many of us dont, but all have first hand expierence via hundreds/thousands of patients that get healed via this amazing method of medicine .
This website is a means to possibly help those that are ill and frustrated with "western allopathic meds" people trying something different, some desperate due to many bad expierences with the use of allopathy.
From a personal point; if not for homeopathy i would be dead right now, from kidney failure. My entire youth allopathic MD's with nothing to offer me,but more sickness, more severe pain. Now i am 100% better due to homeopathy.

Hi Gina,

What a great story and it just shows what homeopathy can do. I spent a lot of my pre-homeopathy life working with renal patients - dialysis, acute and transplants in a couple of the London hospitals. It was very rewarding, but also very hard work.

Take care

Hi G. Tyler,
Add New Zealand to the list of countries where homeopathy is well-recognised, practised and held in high regard by much of the population. I have been there twice in the last 2 years and my daughter has lived there for 9 years so we know this to be a fact.

Gina, would you like to share your full story. I am sure, it would be as much interesting as hundreds of others.

.... And Sarah-1, perhaps, may like to tell her story of conversion to homoeopathy. Such stories too abound and tell the truth of homoeopathy.

Yes please do share your story, Gina.

There seems to be a dearth of information in the "Cured Cases" section - surely the very place many "newbies" will start - and more personal stories would be extremely helpful to those of us who are just starting out or who are making slow progress.

Good Idea.

I will start with mine.

Till 4 years back,I was as sceptic as the people on Randiland, about Homeopathy.Once, I had a big fight with my son-in-law,over treatment to my daughter. He was a die hard believer of homeopathy, and was refusing to go to an allopathic doctor for treatment, despite high fever. He felt that homeo can cure her,but I was furious.

Finally he agreed, but told me that he is accepting allopathic treatment just because of me.But,he requested me to read about homeopathy, and despite that if I continued to beleive it is trash,he will accept my verdict.

I took this as a challenge, wanted to prove him, that it is a hoax.Got hold of Organon, and started reading in right earnest. All the time,I was looking for counter arguments, but after a few Aphorisms, forgot about it,and found myself really immersed in the book.

After reading Organon,I thought I should go deep into the subject.I asked a knowledgeble homeopath, what I should read first, and what are the minimum books one should have,to understand homeopathy. He suggested to start with Nash 'Leaders',Kent's Repertory and Clarke's Materia Medica.

That was the beginning of a journey, which is still continuing, and will continue forever. Now I have more than 100 books,as hard copies, and another 250 books in my software. The latest edition is "The encyclopedia of Remedy relationships" by Abdur Rehman, which unfortunately is not available in India, and hence to happen the first imported book I have.

I shall continue.

The major problems I could solve with homeopathy are

The cervical displasia problem of my wife. All gynecologists are unanious that it may lead to cancer, and suggested immediate hysterectomy.I refused, and now,she is hale and healthy, without loosing any of her body parts.

The second miracle was the cure of my heels pain problem.I was diagnosised with calcareous spur in my heels, and walking used to be such a painful activity. All orthopedics, said there is no cure, except using pain medication continuously, and opt for surgical intervention as a last resort. Now,I have to remember that I had a heel problem.!!!

Since the last three years,we never had any allopathic medication, except when my wife had to get a tooth extracted.I tried my best to avoid that also, but the tooth was alreay so loose, there was no chance of making it firm again, and the infection was spreading.

Other than that,I use only homeopathy, whatever may be the problem cough,cold,fever,boils..anything.I some times was forced to use a series of medicines, may be partly due to my lack of enough knoweldge, but I used to abort any problem, much quicker than any allopathic treatment might have taken.

Enough for now.Let us hear from others.

Murthy

Nice story Murthy,

Well, I actually started my journey with acupuncture first and then discovered homeopathy through that.

I was working as a nurse on the renal wards of a London hospital and it was very busy and quite exhausting work and I really did not like working there at the time, but did not have any choice in the matter. I think the atmosphere somehow had a negative effect on lots of the staff and the working atmosphere in general.

Anyway, I had started to suffer from low back pain and I thought this was from making beds and it was just before I went on the annual pilgrimage to Lourdes in France as a nurse helper, with a friend of mine who had got me to go in the first place, although I am not a Catholic. I have been six times in a row now. I got the time off work and went to Lourdes and it is a whole week of late nights and generally hard graft. It was very bad that particular year and I remember having terrible pain in my hip joint. Constant aching that would not go away. This was accompanied by low back pain too and at the time I was using Ibproprofen gel like it was going out of fashion. We go out to Lourdes from Calais in this special pilgrimage train that was initially built at the time of the 2nd World War. It must be at least 14 carriages long to accomodate up to 820 sick pilgrims plus helpers, Nurses, Doctors, Handmaids and Brandcardiers. Anyway, this journey is about 13 hours long and you get thrown around all over the place and by the time I got home and at the end of the train journey, I could hardly move due to the pain in my back.

I still had the pain when I got home and was thinking about going to see my GP, but thought that he would not really be able to do anything except dole out more analgesia, which I did not want. I wanted to get to the cause and have that treated, so that I had a resolution of the pain. Luckily, one of my colleagues and friends on the ward was going out with an osteopathy student at the time and recommended I go and see one. I did and got some relief. I then went away during the summer and started getting very bad sciatica. I went back to the osteopath, but this did not really seem to help that much. I then went to see a chiropractor and that was a little better, but I did not start to get any kind of relief until I went to have acupuncture. This was great and so great I felt that I started studying it full time.

I was studying acupuncture and doing some part time work on the wards to keep the money coming in and I just hated the ward and had got very depressed. My friend did not like it either and we went to a health club near to the hospital after a shift one afternoon. We were talking in the sauna - as you do and she could see how low I was and suggested that I go and see my doctor and get some Prozac. I told her that I would never consider that in a million years, so she told me to go and see her homeopath instead.

So, knowing absolutely nothing about homeopathy at all, I went along to see her homeopath, trusting her, but with no idea about what was going to happen at all. He was a very nice guy and we talked for what seemed like hours. He then wrote out a private prescription for Pulsatilla 10M and told me to go down to Ainsworths and get it. I did not even know what Pulsatilla was, but took one tablet when I got home and immediately, it felt like a huge cloud had lifted from above my head and I was able to move forward.

I then found a part time homeopathy course to do, so I was then studying homeopathy part time and acupuncture full time. I was not enjoying the acupuncture as much, so after two years I left the college without qualifying and decided to study homeopathy full time and have never looked back.

It was actually through the homeopathy that I discovered Cranio-Sacral Therapy, which is my other great passion and I am still studying this at present.

I always felt a bit guilty though, as my friend who introduced me to homeopathy wanted to train too, but couldn't. I then went off to train and she went off to do Midwifery instead. It all worked out ok though, as Midwifery was one of the things that she really wanted to do anyway and I have treated her with homeopathy and she has done well. I have also done some cranial practice on her too and she has benefitted from that as well.

Sorry this a little long winded, but that was my slow course on the path to homeopathy. I think once people discover it and discover how powerful it is, they never look back. I think the combination of homeopathy and cranial can be truly awesome too.

Yours in health through homeopathy.

Default my story,one of many

hello to all
thank you for the personal stories.
This is what i never wanted in my life,i was an artist for as long as i can remember, thinking about illness and helping others with illness, not my interest.
So perhaps it was my "karmic" destiny that i was born with only one working kidney, because this lead to my journey of homeopathy and saving the lives of others with its use.
As you on line well know living with one kidney is possible but i had a bad 'one' kidney, thus my entire life from birth-on i was sick alllllllll the time and in extreme pain, pain like a lightningbolt pearcing through my 'one bad kidney'.
the allopathic MD went on and on and on for 14 yrs giving me of all things antibiotics for this kidney infection/pain.I started to drink cranberry juice, and this helped some but only for a verry shortwhile, the acid in my urinarytract/kidney was neutralized by the cranberryjuice.By this time we had moved continents twice so lucky for me lost contact with the incompetent allopath. The pain was getting worse as i got older, the delivery of my son was scary due to perhaps complete kidney failure so a C-section was done instead.
There was a point were i thought i would be dead in a shortwhile or on dialisis for the rest of my life, still the pain was getting worse. As obstinate as i was i wanted an answer,so i started looking into alternative medicine. My husband brought home a book for me about Ayurveda, this triggered it.I took the path of ayurveda's healing lifestyle, and it helped 'somewhat' with the pain and infections.I thought lets look further and then my journey lead me towards homeopathy, the first time a homeopath from India gave me a remedy i was on my road to healing, this is what finally did it no more pain and no more infections....just like that. All that suffering in the hands of allopathic meds, what happened to following the 'hypocratic oath' allopaths take in med school ?I followed this amazing homeopath to Calcutta and was his student, and from that point on i have made it my priority to help those in pain.
This is only my personal story of healing via homeopathy, but i found the real reason why i am on this planet ,to use this knowledge of homeopathy to help 'others'.....

Default The Art of Healing

These stories are all heartening and give one a warm feeling towards humanity . But I fail to see the science here. What is being done uses the Art of Healing .
