Well i have another case which i just wanted peoples advice on, as your all so helpful!! My patinet is a 7 year old boy who came to me with a cough that he cant get rid of. He has always had many chest and ear infections and colds always drop to his chest. Intrestingly he has had this latest cough for about 2 months and the mum believes it was bought on by him eating strawberries, because when he did so he found his airways swelled up his eyes became swollen and hives aopeared on his face. Since this incidident he has been left with this cough. He has eaten strawberries before a couple of years ago and the same thing happened. The cough is worst at night and much worse in the monring but not too bad in the day. Its worse for cold air and better for sitting up. He can have a slight wheeze with it. He is a shy child and did not speak much during the consultation when i did ask him a question he was very quiet to answer and looked at his mum a lot for reassurance. He has bright blonde hair, bluey eyes and is very polite, well mannered and well spoken. He has lots of friends and everyone wants to be friends with him he prefers to be with people than on his own. One other thing is that he does not like to sleep and has been like this since he was a baby. His mum says its like he has too much energy to sleep he never complains that hes tired and could happily stay up all night, he says he just doesnt get tired. He doesnt like the dark and sleeps with a small light on but other than that he has no other fears and no otehr anxieties. The only thing that made him sad and angry was losing a football game his mum said he didnt like failing and is competetive. He does well at school and is very intelligent. Any help on this case would be great. I do feel either phosphorous or tub would be good but not sure which so please give advide or ay other suggestions would be welcome. Thanks again Pip |

This is not sufficient and more mental symptoms would help. If we just take the physical symptoms and the modalities then one could select
Cough Monring Cough Evening Cough, Lying agg. etc. with the other symptoms you listed then the remedy could be Bry, Puls, Nux-v .... and many more and no clear picture. One interesting observation is however that the following rubric Skin eruptions - strawberries, only have one remedy Bry. |

Thanks for the reply. Was trying to keep it brief but ill give you a little more info. he is a very inquisitive little boy he likes to ask a lot of questions and is very curious he likes to pick things up and fiddle with things a lot. He also has his hands very near his mouth a lot of the time and quite regularly puts the side of his hand in his mouth and sucks on it, he just likes his hands around his mouth. he is a very clever child he is quick to grasp things and is accademically minded he does very well at school. He gets a sweaty head at night right on the top of his head and his face and ears go red very easily (he had red ears throughout consultation). when he was younger he was very accident prone, they spent a lot of time in and out of taking him to casualty. He was quick at learning to walk but it took about 2 years for him to talk but when he did he strung whole sentences togther. hes a messy person. He likes to eat fruit and has a great thirst for water / coke and so drinks a lot. he doesnt really like diary products or eggs. His mum said he was a very calm person, nothing really bothers him, he doesnt rely on anyone and is laid back. He can get moody sometimes though and is competetive. He doesnt liek to be teh centre of attention but oftn people will approach him to play with. He doesnt liek teh dark and sleeps with a light on. Hope this helps a bit any suggestions would be great!! thankyou

The sucking on the tongue might be related to the breastfeeding as a child or lack of and this could symbolise assurance from the mother and feeling safe. Are there any reasons why you would not consider Pulsatilla the great “Mama” remedy?

From the items given sounds like a Tub case and Puls would be included in that miasmatic group.
The strawberry reaction indicates allergy which indicates slight depression of the immune system. Which may be due to previous medication . Personal preference , but I would always use a Nosode , like Tub , before moving on to other things. Indications for Tub are fine hair, long eyelashes , fine clear skin, restless verging on hyperactive , pixie type triangular face . Puls is very amiable and well liked , but at a certain point becomes very stubborn and immovable. Likes plain food , not rich greasy things and often has fair hair pale complexion , may have had ear problems . |

I agree with passkey on Tub or Puls. One of the keynotes of Tub is burning at both ends that means burning energy and get the best out of life before its is over (desire to travel). But this is a child is he more on the move or want to stay home, does he need his mother?. Where to start with is always an interesting discussion nosode or other remedies. There are homeopaths that are of the opinion that nosodes opens up the case release any blocking factors. Look at the family and child history and you will find the answer

Just to add to my last reply. Didier Grandgeorge states in his book "Homeopathic remedis for the stages of life" (I can strongly recommend this book and any other books from Grandgeorge)
"If a child is sucking his thumb then this is just as through at his mothers's breast and the only solution in such cases is to throw away the pacifier and give support such as pulsatilla. This is the archetypal remedy for a child who does not want to leave its mother or it is the mother who does not want to leave her child. If in doubt give the remedy to both" |
