chandla,
it appears you miss the point. the point is there are different practitioners who believe in different methodologies, but often describe them with the same terms. pharmaceutical companies are not exempt from having opinions, that are contrary to hahnemannian principles, yet present them as homeopathic. at this bb, you ask about how to prescribe, and more than likely you will hear the pov of classical homeopathy: one remedy, one dose, minimum dose, wait and watch. what is hard to understand about the fact that other folks prefer to throw 2 or 3 or more remedies at a disease at the same time? is that homeopathy? well, according to them, and according to some of the pharmaceuticals, and even some of the schools of homeopathy: yes, that is homeopathy. according to classical homeopaths: no, it is not. why mix all these remedies together? for the answer to that question, ask the guys who do it. if you ask this group (at otherhealth), they'll tell you not to do it. another point: are combo remedies good or bad? well, imho, that's a tough question. some people report good results with them, which would i'm sure please john stanton. on the other hand, if those results appear to the classical homeopath to represent palliation or suppression rather than cure, or healing, well ... i agree, but i am not blind to the fact that the patient might rather call the result "relief." yet it takes a good amount of analysis to distinguish between these outcomes, (EDITED for clarity): and since some homeopaths take the first footnote rather literally, they prefer to simply dismiss the results based on the methods used to achieve them, rather than evaluate them for their possible merits case by case. (EDIT to add): similarly, one without experience in clinical practice may prefer dismissing any analysis as rationalization. much simpler to announce that if the process of prescribing an "acute" remedy appears to the uninitiated to vaguely resemble the process used in prescribing a specific, well then, the homeopath blasphemeth. never mind that the observer may misunderstandeth. john stanton: good thing not everyone feels as you do, else there would be no discussion boards. or learning. or even consultation with the guy in the next office? there is indeed a group here, or a subgroup, who appear annoyed that they should be expected to answer questions, especially those they deem naive. but in this attitude they discourage potential converts, and inhibit the spread of knowledge. though to be sure they save themselves some inconvenience, and the frustration of dealing with those who have fixed ideas.
