I am a new member to this site, I just found it out and it was really surprising to know that I can finally talk about my own chronic cold urticaria with people who understand and believe in homeoathy!
First of all, about myself: I am 28 years old male living in united states (Boston) for last six years. I am originally form India. My health is normally ok with no chronic condition except the problem of cold urticatia. Ever since I can remember (at least since I was 6 years old), I have this cold uricaria problem. I can not go out in winter, spring, late spring, autumn, early fall, fall ... the list goes on. Even in summer with the airconditioning everywhere, its a total mess. I have been seeing a homeopath from India for sometime, I was given Psorinum 1M (11/2 years back) and 10M (last September). My urticaria did not change (although I found it was little less with allopathic medication than before). But I developed numerous lesions over my trunk (in the begining), and I have them now on my legs (no more on the trunk). I also developed some kind of dermatitis in my scalp, looks like whitish flakes (mainly in the forehead and at the back of ears). My homeopath (whom I talk to over phone) thinks its mild psoriasis and effect of psorium. He has pescribed me tuberculinum (both bacilinum and bovinum) and thinks it should work on both my urticaria and whatever skin condition I have (lesions on my legs and scalp).
I really need some advice from anybody who understands my situation. Does this medications and their works look anything promising or it just making things more complicated? I hope whatever I said makes it clear, if needed I can give more details. Thanks in advance for any help that I can get.

There is a method of prescription where nosodes are used an antimiasmatic treatment.
But I"m not sure how much this helps in cure.
The "classical" method is to take a complete homeopathic history, make an analysis of this for a picture of characteristics and prescribe a similimum for you based on that. I think you certainly can be healed.

I took and also taking cetirizine hydrochloride (Zyrtec) for my cold urticaria. I usually take two of them (one in the morning and one at night) during winter time and one dose during not so cold seasons. I never took any steroid for this problem.

Regarding my tuberculinum dose, I took two doses of bacilinum and bovinum. Right after taking the first dose, I developed some kind of rash (the same kind of I have in my legs, they look like similar to mild form of nummular eczema) on my upper arm (on both sides). Could anybody tell me what does that mean, does that mean its working or things are getting worse. I also had some rash developed on my trunk. Please, I really need some advice.

A very old and wise Prof of Homeopathy -J.H.Allen wrote a book called Diseases and therapeutics of the Skin. In it he said that one should be pleased that the problems are on the surface of the skin ,and not burrowing deeper , where they can cause great harm undetected.
A nything thrown out to the skin is relieving a problem at a deeper level. Almost any pharmaceutical acts to suppress and drive inwards- not good for the health. Your problem is curable by good homeopathic treatment.

We have been discussing the problem of my cold-urticaria and I am still eagerly waiting to know for sure from someone that after I have been given Psorinum (1M and 10M) and then Tuberculinum and I developed some new lesions on my hands and trunk, whether its a good or really bad indication! It did not change my urticaria, so I really need to know if these medications are making things more complicated or as Passkey said its a good thing that I am having eruptions outside rather inside. Does this kind of antimiasmatic approach ever work?

In chronic cases,one should wait atleast for 3weeks/one month.There should be some relief in the main symptom.

If not so,your homeopath has to retake the case and find a new remedy.

For more details read Vithoulkus's "Science of Homeopathy."It is an excellent book,and will clear most of your doubts.

Thanx for the reply Gavinimurthy; but could you please explain what do you mean by releif from the main symptoms, what exactly should be the main symptom in my case: the cold urticaria or the lesions I am having in my legs and trunk. One more thing, its becoming really cold here in Boston now (its October!!!!!) and I can see without my allopathic medication I can not go too far, is it going to do some kind of bad thing for my homeopathic treatment if I start taking them? My doctor once told me as far as constitutive treatment is concerned, they should not be affected by any allopathic medication.

Your main complaint is skin problem.If there is no relief even after 3 weeks,the medicine has to be changed.

Even if there is a minor relief,you have to wait and see without taking any further medication.

I understand your concern.As long as you don't use steroids and anti biotics ,you may continue to use other allopathic medicines.

what else you can do?

But keep the dosage to the barest minimum required and continue with your homeopathy.

Hello all,

Can anybody tell me if there are any instances where some kind of psoriasis flare-up has occured to anybody after being treated with Psorinum (1M and 10M). I had this Psorinum dose almost a year back and still have the palques in my legs and scalp. There was nothing like this before.
