Default diarrhea for more thank a week....

Hello,

I need to find a remedy for my father. He is 65 years old. He has had diarrhea for more than a week and needed an IV on 7/8 for dehydration.

His stools are watery and yellow. He has an appetite but is afraid to eat. On July 8th, his physician put him on the BRAT diet and he still has diarrhea. He has had blood work, and is scheduled for a colonoscopy on 7/14.

He has not had a well balanced diet for some time. As soon as he can eat, he will be eating better foods. The diarrhea started after eating pizza on 6/14 and has been off and on. Another person got sick as well from the pizza. We are waiting on the results from a stool sample.

He is very scared. A abdomen/pelvic CAT scan showed that he has diverticulosis. Please help. He is now depressed and scared. I am familiar with homeopathy. I am thinking podophyllum is the right remedy.

Thank you for your help.

Jenny

I think you need to find out more characteristics to determine the remedy.
Check his thirst, thermal state, associated symtpoms - any abdominal pain, modalities, concomittant symptoms.
I'd rather look at Ars Alb, Nux Vomica if he has so much of anxiety and fear associated!
But it could be any other remedy as well if you considered the entire picture.

Hello, thank you for responding. One important question for you... he is going in for a colonoscopy on Wed, and the guidelines are fairly strict about what he should and should not consume. Herbal remedies are not allowed; I know that homeopathy is different. Do you think homeopathy is okay to take before the colonoscopy?

Also I know a woman who works with QXCI biofeedback - have you heard about this type of treatment?

Thank you for you time and help.

Homeopathy is absolutely fine even though the doctors say "nil by mouth" before an op. Do try the Arsenicum that Dr Leela suggested

Thumbs up Sanford

If the diarrhoea was from the pizza then it should not have lasted this long. This suggests that there is something else that is underlying and the problem needs to be addressed from its causation level and not just by giving a remedy based solely on the acute symptoms. I would suggest studying the totallity of the case and you will find that the same remedy he needed many years ago is the remedy that is needed now.

Default Remedy for diarrhea

My father is the personality type that worries and fears the worst. He has always been one to worry about something - for example something that he finds out about that will happen in 30 days, he is a wreck until the day passes and all is well.

He has been a beer drinker for years. 8-10 beers a day. Never a "sloppy" drunk; just his preference. So his liver must be checked to see how well it is functioning. He has stopped drinking beer and is only drinking clear liquids such as water and ginger ale.

We will find a solution layer by layer.

Thank you for your input
