Default Re-occuring Urinary Tract Infections (UTI)

My 8 year old daughter has had 8 UTI's and one bladder infection in the past year. The dr. wants to put her on a year long regimen of low dose antibiotics. We've recently found out she has a crossed, un-fused ectopic (sp?) kidney; if that makes any difference to someone out there who may know what to do.

I am brand new to homeopathy and would love to know if there is anything out there I can do for my daughter, without having to put her on constant medication.

Any ideas for my little girl? Any help or support is welcome!

Hi raoulette,
It would be important to determine whether the malposition of the kidney is causing any obstruction or even otherwise if there is some obstructive problem present. An IVP will help confirm that. Sometimes surgical intervention may be necessary to relieve this.

If she's had normal renal function till recently, ie. no infections etc, then I doubt she has any major obstructive problem due this abnormality. Putting her on chronic homeopathic treamtment will help prevent repetaed infections and when she does get an infection it can be very effectively handled with an acutely indicated remedy as well.

Hope this helps!

Default Chronic UTI

doctorleela~

Thank you so much for replying. I cannot be sure exactly how long she's had these infections; as she is completly asymptomatic. I only stumbled across this medical problem on accident. A little over a year ago we had a very traumatic experience (as alot of us in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia have had recently) which caused her to start having 'accidents'. I assumed it was post-traumatic stress disorder caused by the bombing but thought I'd rule out any possible medical problems before we went to the psychiatrist, just in case. We were all very surprised!!

IVP shows her kidneys are fully functioning. Her displaced kidney is sitting slightly atop her bladder (no obstruction). Although, the Pediatric Nephrologist says it doesn't have anything to do with the infections.

You mentioned chronic homeopathic treamtment. I have no idea what that would be. Could you help? A website, an explanation from you, anything would help us. She's too young to be living on constant antibiotics. (The first 3 years of her life she was off and on antibiotics for chronic ear infections! I can only imagine how her little system is poisoned by now.) Any ideas on how to detoxify her system, also?

Thank you!
raoulette

She needs a consultation with a professional classical homeopath who will take a full case and prescribe for her as an individual with a constitutional remedy. This is what was meant by chronic treatment.

Hi Roulette,
the probable cause and the effect on her psyche that you state can very well be dealt with by a good homeopathic similimum and she should be free of this problem in a few months without having to take ANY antibiotics.

Do look out for a good homeopath or else if you are not able to see one personally, this could be helped online as well.
There are a few articles on our website on homeopathy to read. Also you could read a book to help with your homeopathic understanding called:

Default a thought

it is possible that the origin of the problem is in vaccination - in any case as a sycotic complaint use Thuja 30 once a week - can do no harm and is worth a try.
