Default Paralysis?

I'm hoping to get some help. We had a cat returned after 2 months of being adopted. The cat can not walk properly. Her hind end, twists at the lower to middle back when she tries to walk. Not in apparent pain, has feeling when she has to urinate or deficate. The former owner said something about a mold in her basement, but the vet could find no connection with her symptoms. She did not have a temperature upon arrival but was a little high the next day. She is willing to eat a small amount and will let me force feed her. She is quite pale, possible anemic. The vet feels she may have been starved? But we really have little idea about what went on with this cat. We found out that this owner has "done" this to 2 other cats over the years (hence the mold excuse), (the other 2 were euthanized), but due to confedentiality laws we were not informed. Anyways the vet checked her closely looking for fracture or strain or neurological usually caused by virus, but found nothing. She has good muscle mass left in her legs, and exhibits definite and deliberate movement upon exam. Becuase she was so pale and possibly infected with toxin, I gave her nux vom 30ch. It did improve her colour and circulation as well as made her more irritable (she was very placid before) although I initially attributed her mood to a heighten sence of pain? not sure. Anyways not much to do but watch and wait, keep her eating and hydrated. Would like to try her on something else, but I can't make up my mind. I believe she is a little worse in the last 24 hours, her walk is not stiff, but when you watch it, she starts out ok but will suddenly twist from the back and her legs go under. The hip and leg joints appear fine. Any ideas? THANKS!
