Unhappy Papaver for bipolar

Does any one know what plant Papaver is derived from? My brother and I visited a classical homeopath for his recently diagnosed bipolar disorder the homeopath gave him Papaver LM1. He took the 1 teaspoon test 2 days ago, last night we noticed a red rash around his neck & shoulders. Could this be caused by the remedy? Before taking the remedy he had spent a couple weeks in bed, in the morning before taking the remedy he started feeling a little better ( he stopped taking lithium 7 days before, and is weaning off ativan) more energy, can stay up for hours. That afternoon he took his test remedy, it is unclear if the remedy is having a positive effect or if his body is reacting to the elimination of Lithium and Ativan? How do you know if a remedy is working under these conditions?
Thank You
Julia

A healing response often involves a skin breakout of some type. It would be best if your homeopath told you what plant papaver is. The remedy is only the energy pattern of the plant, it has no chemical or physical substance of the plant, so he would not be having any type of allergic reaction. Your homeopath will know if the remedy is working based on Hering's Law of Cure which describes what to look for in a healing response. When I use LMs I always ask my patients to keep in close touch with me since the dosing can change more frequently than with high potencies.

Hi Shirley,

Thanks for responding! I believe you sent me the recommendation list of homeopaths in my area. This was for my brother who was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Last week my brother, his wife and myself visted one of the homeopaths on the list, after the initial visit he sent him Papaver LM1 after spending time the day after our visit studing the case. He seemed very knowledgable, but there was a little bit of a laungage barrier. Is there a different healing response to every remedy?

Default papapver

Papaver is poppy if that is of any use. You could look at symptoms of opium, they could be similar.

The home page here has a section on reference where you will find materia medicas on-line. I think MM Pura has opium. The link to the Homeopathy Home is about 1/3 of the way down the initial page of the BB. the different responses aren't because of the different remedies, but becasue of the uniqueness of each person's vital force.
