Question Symphytum

Hi,

Can anybody give me a definitive answer on how to take Symphytum for a 67 year old man who has broken his arm, near his elbow, in three different places. It was set and pinned but then he didn't do as he was told and it has come out of position and has had to be re-set once more.
I have seen the threads that recommend 6c - 3 x daily for several weeks but my own homeopath recommended 200c - 3 x daily but didn't specify duration that it should be taken! Any advice warmly recieved.

It would be a mistake to give Symph until the bone is properly (and permanently) set. In the meantime, for broken bones, I usually recommend Arnica until the swelling and bruising is gone, then Ruta until the pain is gone and lastly Symphytum. I generally do low potencies for breaks, unless the pain/swelling is extremely intense, because it's a very physical problem. The frequency depends on the potency. Since 6X and 30C are the most readily available at local health food stores, I recommend 6X three times a day for the first three days of each remedy and then decreasing frequency. But it really depends on the situation and how the person responds. You don't want to get any proving symtpoms by giving it too often.

I prescribe 6x, 3 x a day BUT only when the bones have been set correctly. I also prescribe Calcium Phosphate Cell (Tissue) salts to strengthen up the bone on a 3 week on 1 week off basis.

Baity, what is Rexorubia? I've never heard of it and when I did a search in Cara couldn't find it.

Default Rexorubia

This is a mixture of low potencies of Tissue Salts and similar remedies, ferr phos is in it, and some 20 others, but I don't remember exactly. I was prescribed this in France, but it seems to be commonly used even withot prescription by people like sportsmen to boost up their energy.

Just wanted to add a little.

Just like Ricky's prescription, see! she uses symphytum with calc phos and have the opinion that she is not using combination.
