I was only able to purchase Phosphorous in the 5 LM. The instructions said to give 10 drops at 12 LM twice a day. When I asked at the place of purchase, they said that it was possible to reach 12 LM potency with a 5 LM product by giving twice the amount, so that 20 drops at 5 LM would be the equivalent of 10 drops at 12 LM. Before I proceed , could anyone tell me if this infomation is correct?(Thank-you)

No, the information you've been given is not even remotely correct.

POTENCY and DOSE are two different things.
By increasing the amount of "drops" (???) at LM 5, you are merely making the DOSE of LM 5 stronger.
Adding more drops at LM 5 does NOT magically turn the medicine into LM 12.

The only way you can move the POTENCY to a higher level is through the proper dilution and succussion ratio befitting the LM scale.

It was actually the owner of a health food store. I have extremely limited access to homeopathics. In fact, that health food store is it. I ordered the 12 LM but only the 5LM could be be brought in. Is there any way I can reach some sort of equivalent to 12 LM by diluting it myself?

The preparation of LMs is quite complicated compared to taking the X or C potencies, even when they are taken as water remedies. They patients need to be followed much more closely, also. I don't think they should be sold at health food stores unless there is someone knowledgable in their preparation and use and willing to do case management with the person using them.

As I understand it, the owner of the health food store ordered it for you. Is that correct? You can order them directly from almost any homeopathic pharmacy. Is someone prescribing the LM for you? If not, how did you decide you needed to use an LM?

I'm not trying to be difficult, but as a practicing homeopath, following patient cases, my experience is that the LMs take a bit of getting used to and are not nearly as easy as doing a water potency with a regular potency.

Listen: you're in the US, right? Order directly from a reliable pharmacy. Save lots of money. Get the correct information you need, and be safe. Get the prescribed potency you need, not "whatever they can find hanging around in the back".

Inform the health food store owner, in writing, that his/her information was faulty and could potentially damage customers who follow his/her erroneous advice. Suggest some basic training in homeopathy for your local health food store owner. In the meantime, train yourself so you know the difference between good information and poor information, and establish an ongoing relationship with a reliable supplier who can get remedies to you quickly and safely.
