i would say, there can not be any structural changes that do not involve functional changes, and likewise there can not be any functional changes that do not rest on structural changes, even though in many cases the structural changes may be so fine that they can not be observed by current technology.
it is only at the far ends of the spectrum that distinguishing the two becomes clear: a severed limb is a structural and functional impairment that can only be repaired by allopathic methods, though of course the healing after surgery can be aided by homeopathic methods. "gross" interventions such as surgery, nutritional supplements, chelation, colonics, tissue salts, and the like, may accomplish things that are not accomplished by homeopathic remedies, though in other cases my guess is that "substantial" interventions and "energy" interventions can both contribute from their own domain. but the underlying energy disturbance to the vital force can not be corrected by allopathic, or "substantial" methods such as surgery or salts. you can't turn on a light bulb by hitting it with a hammer.

Hello bach,
Thanks. But we can discuss pathological structural changes i.e. altered or caused by disease neither a birth defect nor after surgery is performed in which structural damages is either removed or replaced Eg.; kidney damages before its transplant.

kayveeh,
See my reply to your question under Renal Disease. You may find this helpful. I think that I would also agree that structural damage would also include function decrease too. The two would seem to go together really. If you have a damaged structure, then you are more than likely to get decreased function too. |

Bach, NH,
It should be true that structural damages are followed by functional changes. Functional changes may remain even after structural damages. But I want to discuss here that if structural damages can be cured by homeopathic treatments or not? Just take case of Kidney damages. Can we cure it or not? If remedies are already prescribed we can mention those remedies(like Calc.Fluor is mentioned against organic heart problem & other damages) Otherwise we have to understand how this damage is caused & any possibility to replace damaged cells to healthy cells by homeopathic treatments is possible or not?

it is not a question of either structural or functional changes preceding or succeeding the other, or homeopathy being able to heal one or the other: it is impossible to have structural change without a corresponding functional change, and vice versa. the "qualities" of structure and function are two inherent and inescapable qualities of all organic (and, for that matter, inorganic) objects, like length and breadth in the domain of measurement. my idea concerning the continuum must be raised again, please consider: that at or near the extremes, functional or structual changes may be far more obvious one than the other, and one of them may be virtually undiscernable by contemporary instrumentation. but in one manner or another, on the level of material ssubstance or on the level of energic "charge" (or whatever terms one might use for it), if one exists, the other exists, and if you treat one, you must treat the other. this is apparently a fairly subtle idea, for some at least, though to me it seems transparently clear: the allopaths and molecularists (like yourself) appear to feel they can affect structure without worrying about function, matter without worrying about energy. some homeopaths, otoh, sometimes seem to feel that remedies are exclusively in the province of the "spirit-like," the "pure" energic, and forget the great truth of our age, which may also be but a passing fashion, but which seems to point the way to an underlying reality nonetheless, namely: E=mc^2. in treatment, one identifies a range of functional and structural characteristics against which one may intervene. one can identify many "threads" or themes within the organism, made up of specific traits or symptoms or features and dynammically active, which form the basis for a "diagnosis," and an appropriate clinical response. it is not enough, for example, to say "organic heart problem" or anything else, without considering the organism's resources for self-healing, and one's ability or inability to tap into it. even in conventional medicine, the "desire to live" may be invoked, among other things, as a factor in determining outcome of treatment, just as the "little lady," her child trapped beneath the legendary automobile, finds the strength of 30 large men to lift the vehicle and free the child. but she can not push the severed limb back into place, nor hold it there long enough by far for it to grow back its connections. here, we have reached the end of the spectrum at which structure predominates, calling unquestionably for an allopathic response, needle and thread. but even at that, there would seem to be some question of function, yes? and in the case of organic heart disease, to use your example, how is it possible to talk about structural problems without recognizing inadequacies in the matter of function? i'd suggest you quit trying to reduce these things to simplicities.

Bach,
Firstly I made it clear that I am in favour of truth not in any one therapy, system or theory. It is necessary to consider both matter & energy to understand & apply any theory. You can say that energy represents functional side or homeopathy AND matter represents structural side or allopathy & since both matter & energy are dependent to each other , we may have to consider the both. But few people says matter is made up of energy( E=mc^2) & other will say that energy is made up by matter(m=E/c^2)( like egg or hen who came first). I somewhere mentioned previously that perfect cure/treatments will be when allopathy+tissue salts will be there. You can also consider it as allopathy+homeopathy i.e. a combination of matter & energy. But one thing we should all understand that we are becoming more & more gross from the basic & therefore, we may need to consider gross theory more than the basic theory (unless it is absolute like tissue remedies). Now suppose if mass(structure) is dependent of energy(function) & if homeopathy can treat at energy levels than we should be able to treat the structural damages also. It means if we can treat at functional level it will also treat at structural level with long treatment. If I am not wrong, I think you want to justify in above manner. Furthur, if functional problem is the base of structural problem then why homeopathy can't treat every structural problem? Can't damaged cells like in kidney damages be replaced by new healthy cells by homeopathic treatments? Pls don't consider some irreversable birth defect, accidental permanent damages or surgery effects. Wound can be healed then why injured/damaged kidneys can't be healed?

There's really no reason why homeopathy can't treat every structural problem--but the one variable which determines every single outcome of every single homeopathic prescription is THE PATIENT. Some patients will heal with treatment beautifully, even when the damage seems so extensive that cure seems absolutely impossible, even with homeopathy: some others will not be able to react as well to the remedy and the prescription, no matter how good the prescribing.

Divina,
Thanks. Can homeopathy reverse structural damages to kidneys & if possible Can you tell some remedies which can cure it? You can just tell some common remedies.
