Wondering if you could help me out. I've started having this "pressures in the head" since Oct. 27, 2003. I went to an orthondontist then, who took 2 x rays, one scanned the head(they didn't tell this was going to scan the head area), one did a panaromic x ray of the teeth. Its not a sharp pain in the head. More like a dull pain or pressure that is felt in different areas of the head. One feels like there is a balloon of water in the head(i.e. I can "feel" my brain?). Sometimes it feels I have a warm balloon of water in my head, like your brain has some heat/fever. Occasionally very short-lasting pin type pains also occur. Sometime one feels like one has been up all night, or has been hit on the head kind of feeling. Sometimes, one feels intense pressure. Went to 2 conventional MDs(one actually a PA), & they both debunk any effects of x rays. One doctor says that there is more radiation in the parking lot than in the x ray room! Both conventional MDs, claim its tension, stress. They say there are muscles around the skull that may be "stressed". Claim its these muscles around the skull where the pain is coming from. One doc prescribed Mitrin (#36). I rarely ever get headaches(thank God) so this is very unusual for me. The pressure seems to be aggravated by walking or driving. When I didn't drive for 2 days, I got better. I wonder if its the vibrations from driving that aggravate this condition. I have stopped running for 2 weeks also. Its been 2 weeks. Its getting better, but slowly. If I go out car driving again, it gets worse. Could the x rays have "irritated" tissues in the brain/head? What should I treat this condition with? Your help is appreciated. |

Hi again tsa,
You may be able to surmount both obstacles, lack of insurance coverage and the blather you're getting from the allopaths, by seeking help from a well credentialed Texas homeopath who is also an MD, Karl Robinson. See http://www.homeopathy-cures.com/html...html#Texas-New for contact info. Sometimes it takes a bit of digging to find the right physician, but when one's health is at stake, the energy is well spent. My sense is that you are up to the task. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. [ 16. November 2003, 01:29: Message edited by: Bema ] |

I'll tell you what I tell everyone who posts here--you need to see a good homeopath, in person. Have a full and thorough case taken, and arrange to work with that homeopath so that your case can be managed as necessary.
Have these MDs ruled out any possibilities for serious problems in your brain? Or did you just receive the typical pat on "your pretty little head" and get sent home? If these symptoms are a real concern for you, you can set your mind at ease and have your MDs work up whatever is going on...and then see a homeopath to get rid of the symptoms.

Bema,
Thanks. However, Dr. Robinson is in Houston which is about 4 hours drive from where I live. I'll give him a call though. I'm ouside Dallas/Ft. Worth. Do you know of any MDs outside Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX? ChaChaHeels, one of MDs was trying to diagnose allergies, the other one says stress(he prescribed Mitrin). Apparently Mitrin is a habit forming drug to relieve tension. I dislike taking drugs. I'm trying some self research Homeopathic remedies like Ruta, Belladona and Arnica. |

Well, I'm glad that people have at least paid enough attention to consider other causes...but I still think this is best treated by someone other than yourself.
YOu know, calling Dr. R. on the phone may yield some excellent information about homeopaths who'd be covered for their efforts in your area--people he could refer to you. I hope he can help there.

Hi tsa,
I don't know of any in your imediate area; maybe someone else does. As far as the 4 hour drive goes, it may well be that you would only have to make it once, with subsequent follow ups by phone. As to muscle stress as the possible source of the problem, you could find a good, local massage therapist who ought to be able to either confirm or debunk that theory in one session. |

Thanks. I've been zonked for over 3 days: sore throat, nasal congestion, dry cough, just recovering from that!
Till I find a homeopath in this area, I'm self treating. I stopped the self treatment today, and the pressure started again on the top of the head, albeit after taking a bumpy car ride also. Back to my self treatment...it is working for me. I'll some homeopaths I know long distance I know tomorrow and see what they say. Thanks. |

The pressure/pain is definetly gets aggravated by driving on bumpy roads. Any suggestions? I am continuing to self treat which is helping.
Have to call some Homeopathy docs, but all the work on my plate & home/corporation have not had time to do this. Thanks for any help. |

The self treatment sounds like a band aid measure which is more likely to mask the symptoms and ADD to your problems.
"Not having enough time" is the oldest backdoor excuse for neglecting personal responsibility. The head pain could be considered like a pressure valve at the moment telling you something in your modus operandi is seriously amiss. You can ignore these warning signs, or you can take the longterm healthy option and learn how re-priorize your expectations and addictions that you place on yourself and on those around you. We have all the time we need. It is a matter of managing that time effectively. I think you probably know all of this already and have heard it a million times? But honestly, something has to give somewhere along the line. I would suggest you don't dismiss the fact that your body is trying to tell you something important. It's not simply a matter of taking a pill to get rid of a bothersome ailment so that you can continue on an unhealthy path, it is a matter of understanding the conditions under which these symptoms manifest as they could be considered maintaining causes, and/or obstacles to cure. Look at the whole situation, not a tiny part of it. Go see a professional homoeopath. All the best, Chris |
