I have a friend who is very sick at the moment. She has had fever for last few days...102...started out at 1 in the morning with terrible diarhhea and vomiting alternating..lasted till five in the morning. She took arsenicum the next day(which has helped her before during some flu)...but the fever remained and a cramping feeling in the intestines..below the belly button. She doesn't want anything contricting that area. Felt a little better. Her mind is foggy..doesn't even remember which day she took the arsenicum whether wednesday or yesterday..She has been very thirsty for water often but just sips. Always drinking. But she always likes to have something to drink around.
She has a pain that comes and goes in the back in the area of kidneys...a deep aching. She called the whole thing a violent unheaval. she lay on the bathroom floor and thought she might be dying. She goes between anxiety about her state and sadness or despair..has thought about drowning herself in the pond behind her house...she says she was joking. I think she meant she felt so awful she felt like she might be dying(lying on the floor). She is diabetic and she made it to the kitchen and ate a peach for her blood sugar. She felt very alone..noone around to help her. But she says that was then.

She feels great during a hot bath..but l0 minutes later...back to all muscles...esp. legs..aching, weakness, tiredness in legs..takes all her energy to get up and walk. Now she is bored...been home for 3 days. Her symptoms looked like arsenicum to me so I told her to take it again. But I really am not sure..she is also moaning...

hot from the fever..not burning..just really hot.

despairing
cramp in lower abdomen came back just now from the arsenicum.

mouth tastes cottony..dry.

She is not feeling a whole lot better from the second dose of arsenicum.

Please help. I can't leave my house to help her as I have my mother here.

She got the pain in lower abdomen the next day after throwing up / diarhhea..She doesn't remember if she took the arsenicum before or after the pain. But she was doubling over with the pain..and she did mention that she was angry at work the day of the night that she first got sick...and was thinking about quitting her job. So that sounds like colocynth...I've told her to get that remedy ready..as she is currently feeling that pain in abdomen coming back. ??? Does this sound right? As I talk to her on phone..she is moaning and asking me where she could get some pain killers.

POssibilities are Byronia, Puls, MErc COr. But its till guessing.

First she needs to get some fluids and electrolytes (oral rehydration salts) into her body with all the diorrhea and vomiting or she's not going to get out of the collapse state so easily.

Also, other objective signs of how she looks like, persiration, coldness, heat, etc in this state may be necessary to confirm the remedy. Look around for all those as well.

I can't see her..I only know she is moaning...she has no perspiration..just heat..she isn't cold..but shortly after the dose of ars. about an hour ago..she thought she might be getting a chill...which didn't develop..just the lower abdominal pain...which comes and goes every five minutes..I'm going to call her back in a few minutes and see whats going on. of the three you mentioned...when i tried repping them..pulsatilla came up high...but its thirstless...so...and I thought bry were nasty when they were sick...but what do I know...I told her to take her blood sugar...and her batteries are dead... What else can I find out?

Where do you get rehydration salts...? When she coughs the abdominal pain gets worse. She seems like a pulsatilla type person...SEEMS..sweet little voice...She is lying down trying not to move...but coughing definately makes it worse.

Puls is thirsty during heat, drinks in sips.

I think she needs to have oral rehydration first.

Then get a good look at the presenting symptoms afresh.

So sugar...salt ..in water...can she just make up a mixture of this herself and drink it? Is this what you mean by oral rehydration?

So she made up a mixture and she is drinking it now. She started out equal amts..then after i got a recipe..she added more sugar. she didn't like the taste...and then she felt like she needed to sleep. So we'll see what is what tommorow. Thanks Dr. leela.

She took the puls last night. She woke up with no pain..abdomin relaxed..but now has diarhhea...she wants to know if she should take another dose of pulsa. She has had about 5 bouts since this morning. She'll just start to get a similar pain in abdomen like last night but now it leads to the diarhhea. And her fever is very slight..maybe one degree over..

there aren't any clear indications mentioned for repetition or alteration of remedy.
