I bet dr. Bhatia knows what this is. He seems to know everything. Why don't you try emailing him,
or go to his web site onto his BB and post a topic to him and paste your question there. I'm dying to know myself what this illness is.

He does sound like a Sulphur, though. They keep going when they're involved in a project, and can't be bothered to stop for things like eating and sleeping.

Difficult medical diagnosis. I don't think this is Rheumatoid arthritis.

Observing his state would really help to decide on a remedy.

My husband says he is tall and thin and soft spoken. The mother said that the boy's father was exposed to TB at some time in his life...but I didn't find out when that was..

This seems to me a classical case of what we used to call the 'scarlet fever' in olden days. It is due to type A streptococcus. So even the allopaths are quite near the diagnosis but its just not rheumatod arthritis. Nearly all the symptoms seem to fit in. The only other cause can be an allergic reaction (drug induced).
My favourites for this case would be Apis and Stramonium, in that order.

Thanks...I'll give the remedies to my husband to give to him. Apis thirty c first...unless I need something higher...then he'll have to wait a day or two.

Repeat the apis 30c, 3 hrly, till marked amelioration is seen.

The son of a friend of my husbands has these symptoms: If anyone has any ideas...

Eighteen year old boy in a special advanced school, intense...always in number two place in scholastics, driven, doesn't pay attention to slow down when he gets sick...just keeps going and going.

It started three weeks ago with a sore throat which turned into a very stiff neck where he could hardly turn his head. Then got what looked like hives(welts) on his chest and legs..red...then the ones on his chest became open sores. The redness turned to purple. His temp. was at 102 recently and the sores on his chest got bigger.

His ankles are swollen and now all his joints are affected...his knees and his elbows..aching.

He was taken to doctor and he passed out when they took blood...very dehydrated.

His mother says he is not competitive as in sports..he does solitary sports but is high achiever and always has been. She thinks he wants to be in control of everything and being sick is being out of control so he ignores it and keeps saying he is okay. Tries to avoid his mother because he knows she will send him to doctor which she did. They did some blood tests and asked him if he had been in a foreign country and sent him home. They are waiting for blood tests to return. They mentioned something about rheumatoid arthritus.

Isn't there some remedy that refuses to admit there is anything wrong with them?

Any ideas?

He learned french...in high school and still speaks french in his sleep. His mother also said he is just totally run down from not eating properly. She thinks he may have a vitamin deficiency. He also has a cough...was tested for tb. He is more on the warm side..against the heat.
