The same principles as apply to humans. Everything alive has a vital force, so everything alive can be treated homeopathically. With some life forms, taking the case is more difficult and needs more acute observation on the part of the homeopath. That's all. Everything else remains the same.

thanks for your input
and what about the similia principle... the remedy which has the ability to produce symptoms the same has the ability to cure.... which sympotms were produce in the plants during the proving of these remedies?

Hmm. We've never proven remedies on plants...we've never proven remedies on animals, either...yet both respond. I guess it means you have to know what is "healthy" in plant life and animal life, and what is a symptom of ill health in plant and animal life.
Animals can communicate to human beings their symptoms, even their emotional and mental ones. Any one who has had a pet knows this: we know when our animals are terrified of thunder storms, or when they are very happy, or when they are stubborn, or when they are incapable of learning a particular task. We know when they are exhausted or thirstier than normal or not able to eat food and digest it properly. Even though we have never proven remedies on animals, we can observe symptoms in the same way we do in human beings--and then we can match those symptoms to a remedy picture, which, when given, will cure. We do this all the time in homeopathy. Same thing with plants: if we know how to interpret the symptoms of illness we observe in a plant, then we can match the symptom pictures to a good remedy and produce cure. Though we are not using 100% proving information on our subjects in the same way we would if we were dealing with human beings, we can still apply our information, as well as the Law of Similars, and it will work. It is a natural law, after all. The point is, the substance produces a pattern of symptoms in a living organism--not just human beings, as we've learned through our clinical experience.

Dear Divina, I appreciate your input and agree with most part of your post.
Technically speaking Similia principle is not applicatble on plants or animals either. As you said we gain knowledge through our experience. The same formua is applicable on plants. No proving was done on plants so similia priniciple is not applicable on plants. similia principle will only work when you will perform proving on plants. This is my personal opinion. I agree with your statement we are applying our knowledge of similia principle on plants and animals and fortunatly the principle has worked most of the time. Julian Winston was talking on this subject and he said few experiments were carried on plants to see the effect of homeopathic medicine but did not receive healthy response. Frankly speaking this is called hit and try method which we are doing on plants. No proving was done on plants so we don't have any idea of generating or producing symptoms in plants. We are implementing our knowledge of human beings over the plants. But can't say in full authority that homeopathic medicine has 100 percent response as we are getting in human beings.

The philosophy of testing medicine on human and then on animal is different (suppressive / opposite) the philosophy of testing / proving medicine on human and then using them again on human is called SAME philosophy. This same is called similia while opposite is called allopathy.

Actually, Arshad, you didn't read my post very well.
The Law of Similars is a natural law, it is applied to plants every day and is curative if it is applied correctly. Though we cannot expect to glean information from plants via language, we can see the effect of prescribing on plants with our eyes, our ears, our noses, our sense of touch, and even our sense of taste; in this way, we have accumulated CLINICAL knowledge that is relevant. We can see that if we match the symptoms presented by any living organism to the symptoms we know result from remedy provings and find a good match, we will cure. Clinical information is not our first line of reference--proving information is; however clinical information on every remedy has been gathered for over 200 years and this information has also shown itself to be useful and reliable in practice. We can, in fact, use the information we acquire clinically to treat plants and animals other than human ones. The Law of Similars always applies, regardless of whether or not we actually "prove" a substance on a plant. The Similia principle is not the correct term for the Law of Similars on which Hahnemann based his understanding and teaching and practice of homeopathic medicine. [ 08. Hello Divina and Prof Arshad
The question was "Which prinicple of homeopathy is applicable on plants treatment" Prof said "Technically speaking Similia principle is not applicatble on plants or animals either" Shirley said "ife force" M Iqbbal said "similia not applicable" The answer to the first question was quite difficult and so Divina thought it better to change the entire philosophy of homeopathy and she came with the folloing words Divina said "The Similia principle is not the correct term for the Law of Similars on which Hahnemann based his understanding" Divina are you in your senses? or kidding with us. I agree with sirley that life force principle is applicable on plants and not similia principle. ![]() [ 09. it is quite interesting to try homoeopathy with plants. not an exact science, but there are good pointers if you look for example at:
what time of year the plant is affected - what type of weather/ climate conditions aggravate? what is the nature of the problem - what type of discolouration for example? what if any smell from the fungus/ sappy discharge/ infestation? something i have tried which is not homoeopathic, but might be of interest is a little experiment on a witch hazel in my garden [from which i live a long way at present, so i have not been able to check if it works.] the tree sits in chalky soil which is of course bad for an ericaceous plant - it gets by there without thriving. last year i put some calc carb around it, to see if that would attenuate the maintaining cause of the wrong soil. i haven't been able to check on it yet, but i hope it might save some digging out and soil-changing. if it works then one might get around restrictions of soil ph much more easily than the usual hard work method. |
