Thanks!
Can you tell me any more? A couple of weeks ago he had transient red linear welts on his face, arms, and trunk. He would get very red to the slightest touch. Low grade fever and very irritable, took him to allopathic doc, and told him I had seem white spots in his bm and one night he had a tiny hard white lump near his umbilicus with a palpable line about an inch long under his skin. He went to bed and woke up an hour later with a very sweaty head and was screaming. I changed his shirt and the thing on his belly was gone! Doc said he didn't see any thing wrong (I need to get a new doc and find a homeopath in my area). I asked for stool test which came up negative. But this evening, after his bath, he passed a very long, very thin string, and nothing else. I have saved it to show the doc. Where could I get this remedy? And his symptoms have changed. Karen [ 15. I found it in BOERICKE's materia medica. Some of those were his exact symptoms last week! They have subsided though, should I still try it? What dosage, what frequency? Looks like its only available in tincture.

Dear Karen,
If it comes in tincture, you could order that and give 5 drops in 2 oz. of water three times a day, and you could also order it in potency--30C, and I've never had a worms case but I would think 30C three times a day for 3 days, but be prepared to stop if he gets worse, decrease the frequency when you notice he's getting better--use common sense, in other words; you may need to go longer than 3 days. Best way to give the remedy is in water with shaking or stirring before each dose/sip (not talking about the tincture here). www.a2zhomeopathy.com may have it. www.hahnemannlabs.com may also have it. Thanks Snoopy,
I am not sure how to dose. He seems sensitive to remedies. I have treated him with 30c (arnica or pulsatilla) in the past with decent results, but on other occasions he seemed to aggravate. My previous homeopath (we moved) used to recommend one 30c for my son's acutes daily for one to three days. He likes to take the pellets but I am not sure how the water would go over (could I add it to a drink?) Would I put one 30c in water and then succuss each time, and give 3x per day? Or just give one 30c dry per day for two or three days? Karen [ 15. March 2003, 16:15: Message edited by: klaf ] |

Dear Karen,
The reason for the water and succussing before each dose is that succussing changes the potency ever so slightly so that the possibility of a previous dose being antidoted by the next dose is eliminated. Also, less chance of aggravations occurring this way. If you would feel better using a 6C three times a day rather than a 30C, that's OK, but three days probably would not be enough for such a low potency. Also, a 30C once a day is fine, but may need to be taken for a week or so. You really won't know until you see the child's reactions and you would adjust your dosing according to progress or lack of progress. Snoopy |

Dear Snoopy,
I ordered some Teucrium from Hmedicine.com in 30c potency and also two combo remedies (one is a homeopathic spray and the other is pellets, just in case, this worm thing is so gross!) I may try the succussion method, but am not sure how to make the initial solution. Do I simply add one pellet to some spring water, and give each dose from this? Thank you so much for your help. Teucrium is a good remedy for 'pin worms'.It will act quickly. But in some cases constituitional medicines are required.
Look for Calcarea carb also.It is a deep acting remedy and it will cover this type of cases which affects skin.Any way general symptoms should agree with.

Dear Karen,
Don't be confused, it is for thread worms--it's in "bold" for thread worms, though it may help in other worms as well. Simply take a pellet of the 30C and drop it in a small bottle of spring water, shake the bottle before each dose (a sip), store in the refrigerator, when the bottle gets low, refill, don't add more pellets. I don't know about the combination remedies; don't give them at the same time as the Teucrium or you won't know what's working. Let us know how this is working out. Snoopy |
