It sometimes appears to me that some people use this discussion forum not to answer the queries of seekers but to tout for business for their friends!

Really a sad state of affairs!

I always thought that good physicians/consultants find it unethical to tout for business either directly or indirectly. If they are really not involved in such touting, why don't they forbid their overzealous friends from resorting to such unethical practices?

What are you talking about?

Who is touting anyone?

If you mean people are recommending others to consult homeopaths they know, that is known as a referral.

I hope my patients do this for me as often as possible! There is nothing unethical about it.

I would rather consult a homeopath who has been recommended than maybe one just looked up in the phone book for instance.

'Referring on' is a widespread practice amongst allopaths.
Like Divina I can see nothing wrong with it !

So, hm, as far as you are concerned, no homoeopath should charge for their services?

Because effectively you are saying that no-one can refer a patient to a homoeopath that charges. Well, that just doesn't make sense.

There is often a complaint laid at homoeopaths that they do not practice full-time, only part-time. Well, if people were prepared to pay, then they wouldn't have to do other jobs as well.

IF people can afford to pay, then they should pay.

Ever heard the saying "you get what you pay for"!

Allopaths also refer. Refering is not prohabitited or bad thing either working as doctor in a clinic or at this forum but refering on general discussion forum in sense of advertisement does make sense to me. They can send private message to that member.

Yes, allopaths do refer; but they do so through a personal referral, not through a public forum; not through any advertisement hoarding, not through any notice board or bill board. And Homeopathyhome is not a billboard for such a purpose. You want to refer somebody to a homeopath who you think is good, do so by all means, but not via this discussion forum. Do it through a personal message to the person concerned. Referring a person to a homeopath of your choice through this discussion forum seems to me to be tantamount to "degrading" the homeopath concerned.

Jumma, You do not read all threads. May I help you

some body asked so many questions to a new member and at last replied in this manner

Quote:
Dear Catered,

What homeopathic remedy are you taking? What potency? How many times a day? Are you taking it in pill form or in water?

Could you tell me more about your digestive problems? When you say heavy food, which foods specifically do you mean? How do you react to onions and garlic?

By the way, I'm not a medical doctor, but if you would like to consult with a good medical homeopath, you could visit dr. Leela's web site at www.homeopathy2health.com and if you can afford it that would be the smartest thing to do. It's hard for me to understand what your homeopath is doing without knowing the remedy he prescribed along with the dose and dosing schedule.

So, if we could get back to the itching, what exactly itches? The boil itself? Is it severe itching? Does it keep you awake at night? Are you forced to scratch? And then when you do it bleeds? And what do you do then at that point, when it's raw and bleeding?
In that reply somebody said

Quote:
Catered Sorry to hear that you have been asked to answer for so many questions and then you have been refered to a paying web site where you have to pay consultation fee in dollar. Please don't get annoyed...
although few people are trying to do sympathy with their friends by refering patients at open public forum like this one. But in my opinion they are doing harm for them. They can adopt a better position by refering underhand (through Private messaging system)
