So I made up this drink and I'm going to try it on myself. How much does one drink per day and for how long?
Mindy's sites suggested a couple of teaspoons of the cilantro pesto a day for a few weeks. [ 11. February 2003, 20:48: Message edited by: carolorr ] |

Actually, it tastes like cilantro. I'll pass on your recipes, tho...don't do well with cheese or vinegar. Mindy's site has a recipe of cilantro pesto with olive oil, garlic...and I think lemon juice. What I'd like to know is if the iron goes down my leg into my toes...will I slip and fall if I go near a magnet?

Carol,
Glad to hear you already have a pesto recipe. Glad to hear the tea tastes just like cilantro. Sometimes herbs made into tea taste a little bitter. (btw, I did say a type of vinagrette - but I actually use lemon juice in place of vinegar. Anyone can omit the cheese as they like on the rice dish....) [ 12. If you don't remember...the baby had a high lead count. Ricky mentioned cilantro to detoxify....I just now remembered...that when my daughter-in-law was pregnant...she craved salsa...she ate at least 3 large salad bowls a week for about 2 or 3 months...filled with cilantro...with tomatoes, jalapenos...vinegar...whatever else is in salsa. We still won't know about the babies lead count for a few weeks...her next baby appt...but it was crazy...thats all she would eat...shoveling it into her mouth for that long and not getting tired of it. She was crazy for it.

Very interesting, Carol, and I say that as someone who is almost "addicted" to alternating cravings, first for this, then for that. I've long felt, as many people do, that these cravings were the body's means of responding to some internal need.
My question: what about tomatoes, especially in sauces (i.e., concentated): pizza sauce, ketchup, mole sauce (as in enchilda mole), sometimes salsa, sometimes tomato soup, marinara (the more concentrated the better). Ibelieve potassium is high in tomatos. Any thoughts, anybody? Just curious. Bach [ 22. February 2003, 16:34: Message edited by: bwv11 ]

Tomato sauces are also rich in the antioxidant, Lycopene.
