I don't need treatment, homeopathy or allopathy or herbal. My point is it is a common observation that some cat scream at night. What is this sign about. Is she enjoying or she is in trouble.

Dr. Hafiz Mati,

Interesting that you mention cats screaming in the night. Have an elderly male Angora (abandoned by someone years ago) who lets out one or two long, piercing yowls most nights around 2 AM. It is an unearthly sound, nothing like any normal cat verbalizing. It's a whale of a wail. I've seen him simply lift his head, barely awake, indicating no pain or displeasure of any kind, simply yowl once or twice and go right back to sleep without even changing position. I've not seen (heard!)another cat do this. He doesn't cry or yowl any other time. I finally came to the conclusion it must be something to do with dreaming?

Thank you Dr. Hafiz Mati.......for your efforts to bring back the animals to the discussion forum. You made a statement and I appreciate it.

Alright, 50 demerits for mentioning animals on the Human Forum! Not only that, I'm afraid I'm going to have to send both of you to detention!
Here at the Homeopathy Home Bulletin Board, we follow orders. I mean, Ve Follow Orders!

My dog dreams. I know it. He makes noises like a stiffled (soft almost high pitched) bark when he's dreaming. Actually it's a very sweet sound and you almost feel sorry for him. I always stroke him to reassure him but he doesn't seem to notice and that is why I think he's dreaming. I think he's chasing conquests .

OMG what timing.

SunShine did this just the other night and I had no idea what was going on. I didn't know this was common, really upset me but he seemed to be just fine.

Thanks for posting that, I feel more at ease with it now.

Warm Smiles,

Oh, come on. We've always known that non-human animals dream. It's this piercing scream thing in the middle of the night that is different. Might be nightmares about human animals coming at them with brooms to sweep them away? Or, are they having some non human animal like recall of the horrid testing done on their ancestors in the name of homeopathy. Maybe they've met up with one of those old homeopaths in dreamland that caused such suffering and are as terrified of the acts human animals are capable of as I am. Then we toss them out as not important enough to have their cases posted in the *human* Discussion Board.

Listen, I know dogs dream, but I've had others tell me they thought it was a loada hogwash.....
As for the piercing screams in the night from cats....luckily Dempster doesn't do that. Though, he does tuck into my flesh with his paws sometimes......and that's an eyeopener when I'm sleeping ever so peacefully .

What I absolutely cannot stand, is the cats outside my bedroom window, fighting into the night.....and luckly Dempster has kicked their serious arses well enough they don't come round here anymore .....but I do wonder what makes them do it. I also wonder what makes some dogs bark and bark and bark their heads off at night. I'd think they'd get a bloody headache from all the 'yelling' and carrying on.

Poor Austin. Asking these questions. Cats out of the bag now. Couldn't even give a proper report about her kitty.....never looked under his tail!!! Shame, shame...everybody (almost) knows your name!!

Cats fight in the night because their stupid human "owners" put them out the door for the night, didn't have them altered and that's what they do as a result. Fight for territory. Fight for food. Fight over some poor little female also stuck out the door at night who hasn't been spayed and is at the mercy of these Tom cats. Cats are nocturnal. Night is when they get into trouble. Most injuries and deaths occur at night...for cats.

I'll let Krista explain about the dogs!

Didn't look under his tail! Holy cannoli.

Cats are nocturnal creatures. They are also territorial. My boys are both neutered and get along great with each other - are not at all territorial with each other. Now then, if I don't put them out at night, they yowl and prowl. They sound like a herd of elephants stampeding up and down our stairs. And if I put them out at night, and another cat comes into their yard, the fighting and yowling outside begins - and continues and continues! Well, I could stay up all night and play with them and sleep all day like they do, but it wouldn't be good for business.

Now about dogs, they are pack animals and they usually bark out of loneliness and/or boredom. But at least they aren't too nocturnal!

Dogs are just dumb! actually some breeds are very predisposed to barking and howling like huskies, schiperkes etc. Poor training is at blame for most of it, owners are simply too lazy to teach their pets any manners, inappropriate barking is a common reason given by owners abandoning their dogs.
