Dear Homeoman

You asked:
>>Inspite of the fact that their health altering properties can't be established before application , still they found place in homeopathy. Can you please clarify??<<

If I am talking of remedies suitable for the use in homeopathy, I refer to the definitions given in the Organon, particularly the Par.: 144.

I might not have been completely clear in this point. Here I formulate it clearer:
Condition one should read:

1) Its health altering properties have to be established in healthy humans, before applying them in the diseased.-

I follow Hahnemanns realisation, that trying medicines in sick people only gives a distorted symptom picture, and furthermore, a lot of time and energy is wasted trying around with different medical substances in the case of disease, not to speak of the unnecessary suffering caused by this hit and miss procedure.

Therefore it is pivotal to have the properties of each medicine accurately established beforehand, so that in the case of disease, the truly curative remedy can easily be found by the apposition of the diseasepicture to the symptompictures.

On the question of substitution which means ‘’replacement one remedy for another’’, I want to draw the readers attention to the fact, that only identical items are replicable without adverse impact on the state of the system.

This means, that homeopathic remedies are not interchangeable IE. One cannot be substituted by another different one.

In the situation where the most suitable remedy is not available, another remedy selected as good as possible similar to the disease picture can be applied but with a lesser curative outcome.

Here, the word SUBSTITUTE is more confusing which really created puzzlement, actually a Nat-mur patient would never be a lachesis or Phos.

If a patient is falling under the category of Nat-mur then he is a nat-mur patient although the same patient has symptoms which are present or found in lachesis or phos, it does not matter.

But at the same time, I will not neglect the point which was raised by meena,dr salim, cuty and shirley etc Good thought.

Evergreen Dear Dr. Arshad Sheikh, Homeopath

Thanks for your explanation. I agree with your statement that exactly I meant.

Shirley Reichman,

Quote:
Substitute means to use one instead of the other and get the same results using either. In this case, you would still be left with two symptoms and would need to find another remedy to cover them
That kind of substitute is also not available in allopathy too. If we have to prescribe Uraxin (a research antibiotic product used against infection of urethra) then you can't prescribe Amoxil (another anitbiotic). Although amoxil can also cover infection in urethra.

My wife is an allopathic doctor.

It is not true that you can use a "substitute" remedy without fear of adverse effects - an imperfect remedy may give an imperfect result - proving symptoms, suppression, stronger aggravations than the simillimum. It may also do nothing, but there is always a risk.

Dear Homeoman
Your homeopathic journey might take you to the provings of Arsenicum, Agaricus, Belladonna, Lachesis etc. There you will read, that for the purpose of proving minute doses of otherwise lethal poisons were given to healthy individuals to find out their true effects.
Healthy individuals= humans of both sexes free from acute or chronic disease.

While the original provings were done with material doses, in Par 28, H says to use the 30C so the true medicinal qualities can be ascertained. Without being potentized, the full value of the medicine will not be brought forth.

In practice, there are some symptoms of substances in the materia medica are taken from poisonings. But these are not provings.

Once the poisonous substances are potentized, they can be proved in the standard fashion. However, many of the symptoms originally came from poisonings. Hahnemann started out using unpotentized substances, both medicinally and in the provings, but later potentized them.

Not only that, but remedies seem to elicit different symptoms depending on their potency.

David’s opinion

Quote:
however Glonoine and Belladonna are, Lachesis and Belladonna are, Stramonium and Belladonna are, Hyoscamus and Belladonna are. These remedies might serve in a case where Belladonna was unavailable,…………
It seems to me that you can give some hope for the use of combinations in homeopathy as one can give compatible / complementary medicine as you mentioned here in the form of combination when you don’t find doctor near to you. As I am experiencing.
