60 yr old male ,patient, caring ,unselfish, slow to anger generally although in some situations can be very angry/strong in opinion .....sudden wild uncharacteristic outbursts .......generally quiet considerate polite but shy and retiring from meeting strangers or making new friends .......if wife makes new friends then perfectly happy to join in and complete the scene
Feels cold and draughts even in very warm room and with warm clothes ......complains feet are freezing, lower back is freezing when others are fine
prefers to be in sunny warm climates ....hates the damp cold in UK
No problem with wind off the sea whereas wife would feel chilled to the bone is such a situation
If he goes outside for a walk in current wet damp weather comes back sneezing with copious clear discharge for hours
Would choose spicy Indian/chinese food if out as at home etc wife and he eat fairly simple fresh foods and salads
Cucumber and ginger disagrees but otherwise will eat most foods without problem
fine tremor of hands if hungry or after any exertion like cutting the grass
Body temp consistantly 96.2 ......nothing raises it
For last year ...difficulty starting stream of urine ...stop start .poor stream ...wakes up and goes to toilet 2 or 3 times a night although not sure that its bladder pressure thats waking him
Incomplete emptying of bladder
more frequent need to urinate during the day

In last year
3 or 4 attacks of fairly severe
aching pressure discomfort across lower abdomen /bladder area
Ultrasound shows enlarged central portion of prostrate with some calcification and incomplete emptying of bladder

Cannot cope now and never has been able to cope with stress in any form .....currently trying to cope with NFH who is agressive and difficult over everything

Wants to move house to escape the stress but this will prove very difficult

No family history of prostrate problems known
Father and brothers and self still relatively highly sexed in later life .

Allopathic specialist insisting TURP op is needed urgently but patient does not like the arrogant attitude of specialist or the refusal to discuss the outcome etc and concerned that such invasive proceedure may cause more problems than it cures

Any one any ideas on this

Surgery should be the very last option considered. Find a local homeopath to deal with this as good results can be obtained. It would be best if a constitutional remedy could be found but there was not enough information for me to suggest one. I take it a PSA (PDA?- sorry am abroad without my books at my fingertips) test has proved OK.I presume he has tried Saw Palmetto (herbal) in a high dose for at least 3 months. He should also be on at least 35mg Zinc a day although some would say 100mg. Cranberry juice should also be drunk every day by the tumbler full.

pat, this situation is not one to be taken on the bb.
if there is a flare up and urine cannot be voided, this can cause reflux to the kidneys and blood poisoning which can be fatal.

>> refer the patient to a competent homoeopath.

if the patient intends to avoid surgery it would be best if the patient were provided with catheters for emergency use, with directions on usage.

I don't know about this case but have been doing some research on Selenium and think its an under-used remedy. Can be useful for prostate problems and issues about sexual performance, depression and withdrawal. Has anyone any experience using this remedy?
