Sorry there are not complete tests . . .
Around where I practise about 80% of patients suffer from some sort of a degree of Hypothyroidism, but it is not disease related, it is nutritional. The meat intake is very high, and fish consumtion, in the better cases, is about once a month. The real cause here, then, is an iodine difficiency, and without supplementing that deficiency, no remedy will bring about permanent cure. Kelp tablets or Fucus vesiculosis tincture (which is the same) may help for this deficiency.

Christian if Vaiyda actually has Auto Immune Hypothyroid then Iodine is the very last thing they should take

Vaiyda .......please get hold of your results and post them here
I bet your doctor does not know all about Thyroid to the extent I do
TSH is quite honestly a waste of time and money
its possible that your body cant use the Levoxyl correctly
If you are Genetically Resistant to Thyroid Hormone at cellular level you would need T3 /Cytomel and all your Thyroid labs would be "normal " because they cant test for GRTH

Homeopathy should of course be able to readjust your body but it takes time and meanwhile its foolish not to take either Levoxyl or T3
see www.drlowe.com for info on GRTH

Pat Davis

You are obviously right.
If it's Hashimoto's then there should be about an 90% chance that there will be antibodies present?

Pat, Christiaan: Right, what I have is an auto immune disease of hypothyroid (Hashimotos) and Iodine supplement would not help.

I can't say I understand Dr.Lowe's method of curing the thyroid disease. For better or worse I am a little better in understanding the homeopathic philosophy now than before and want to give it a shot and see what happens. That said, I don't want to pursue too many options at the same time. I hope Homeopathy can really help me in this case and I am willing to invest time to see if it does.

Snoopy: Sorry, I may not have elaborated it in my earlier post but Asthma is not an issue in my case. Never had anything close to it. I don't know if it (the symptom) is considered high in the point scale or not in choosing the remedy. For each remedy I try I usually write down the symptoms of mine which agree close to the description of it. Here is what I have for Thuja:

* Left sided complaints
* Problems related to skin - pimples; Greasy skin (face); erruptions on nose and forehead;
spongy erruption on the right side of neck;
* Easily tired
* dandruff; hair falls easily
* vericose veins under tongue
* rumbling sounds as fluids are consumed (water)
* bitter erructations after eating fatty food
* anal fissure
* sensation of trickling after urinating
* brittle nails
* dry skin
* pain as in inguinal hernia when lifting after lifting anything heavy
* insomnia - on and off; unrefreshed sleep; jerking motion of lower exremeties before sleep;
* wake up 3am; thirst at night and early morning;
* Redness of eyes & burning
* muscle twitchings
* slow speech; temporary loss of memory for words; missing words in writing
* weariness of legs when ascending steps
* symptoms better in warm weather and worse in cold weather

(I am with you.. worried about our beloved president's itchy trigger finger)

Dear Vaidya,

Everytime I watch the news, and hear about how we're deploying troops to the area even while the UN weapons inspectors say they can't find anything, I find it hard to believe that anyone's actually going along with this!

Well, anyway, back to your case, I sent you a private email a while back but you may not have gotten it, so I'll repeat part of it here:

******************
I've been going back and forth between Thuja, Silica and Nat-mur. But I think I've finally settled on Thuja. They're worse in the cold damp of winter, they wake at 3 A.M., they have post- nasal drip, runny nose, runny nose during stool, brittle toe nails, left-sided complaints, and there were a few rubrics where the only 2 remedies listed were Thuja and Silica.
