HI dear ALL,

I just feel that these days there are so many seminars who charge more than a year's fee for their one/two weeks seminars.

Is it reasonable for these people to charge this kind of prices?

If you have a good grounding at your college then what is the need of these seminars!!

Ideas are invited only for discussion not to put any body down.

Unfortunately, Shashi, many organisations require that you attend certain seminars, etc. as part of their Continuing Professional Development programmes.

Money-making exercise? Most likely, but supported by professional organisations.

Shashi,

We should not expect course advantages from Seminars. Seminars are to be arranged for updating our knowledge in a field. In homeopathic seminars, we generally participate for getting awareness and updating our knowledge on new or unique topics. Which requires a competent authority in that field who could teach or aware us for that field in a seminar. It means that the seminar’s environment is totally a different environment as compare to the running course environment.

Some organizers arrange heavy refreshments for seminar participants. Another problem is of loading and unloading charges, which are also necessary. Seminar organizers generally give heavy honorarium (emolument) to lectures which are competent in their fields. This also increases the expenditures.

I totally agree that now a days some Seminars organizers have converted this stunning privilege of seminars into business. They are charging heavy fee’s which are not fair. We do know their limitation but my request to them to cut short their expenditure as much as they can.

You will be happy to hear that in Pakistan, some homeopathic societies are arranging free seminars. They are not charging any fee for lectures and refreshments. Pakistan homeopathic Society (PHS) is one who is standing at top at the moment. I have attended few seminars. Their arrangements were excellent. Some three to five hundred participants generally participate in these seminars. At the end of seminars, serving of lunch is common tradition.

What do we need today, Devotion and Love for homeopathy

Do we have love and devotion

I feel that these seminars are invaluable.

I have learnt so much over the years from attending them- which has only added to the grounding I got in college.
There is always something to learn in Homeopathy- so many different ways of looking at things.
Homeopathic learning is very dynamic!

We are all encouraged to participate in Continued Professional Development these day which I think is a good thing. I wouldn't want to stay in my Homeopathic development where I was when I left college.
The prices of some of the seminars and courses do seem expensive but when you consider the amount of time and effort which goes into the planning then it isn't so suprising.

Hoppitt,

First read the title of the seminar and the names of the lecturers. Enquire about the purpose of the seminar. Then see wheather the seminar will be helpful for you or not. If you feel, it will be helpful to improve your previous knowledge and then do attend other wise no need of wasting time and money.

Don't attend the seminar for getting soical enjoyment. If you will attend without knowing the purpose of the seminar then you will definitly develope the same opinion as you said above. This shows that the participant was not aware of the purpose of the seminar.

I HOPE you will take care next time.

Getting knowledge is not my ambition in seminar. I only attend homeopathic seminars for get together, talking with friends, entertainment and eating new recipies.

Hoppitt was at the last seminar I attended by Dr Ramakrishnan on his innovative way of treating cancer. We both learnt a lot and I can assure we were not there for the social side!! Anyone who thinks that this would be their prime object of attending would have been very disappointed.

Our association usually charge 500 Rs. per head. I beleive in free seminars people don't take interest. No renowned scholars attend free seminars.
