I want clarfication from my honourable members over these words.

What is the difference between chorea and tremor.

What is internal tremoring and external tremoring.

How could we distinguish them. All are present in Kent.

I think chorea is a hormonal disorder disease. while tremor is due to nervous disorder. it may not be due to hormonal disturbance. but hyperthyrodism may cause tremor too.

hello sha,

Abnormal involuntary movents are of 5 types.They are Tremor,Chorea,Myoclonus,Tics,and Torsion dystonia.

Chorea consists of continuous flow of irregular,jerky,and explosive movements that flit from one part of the body to another in random sequence.The common causes of chorea are;

Syndenham's chorea
Huntington's chorea(thyrotoxicosis,senile chorea,SLE,encephalitis lethargica etc)
Drug-induced chorea(alcohol,neuroleptic drugs)
Hemi chorea (stroke,tumour truma)

Tremor is a rhythmic sinusoidal movement of a body part,due to regular rhythmic muscle contraction.The common causes are;

Rest tremor(parkinson's,extra pyramidal diseases).
Postural tremor(thyrotoxicosis,alcoholanxiety states,wilson'diseases etc).
Intension tremor-brain stem diseases,Multiple sclerosis etc

Jshah,

Thanks for sending a clue. I think this is the most important questions for comparison. We are not clear about our most of the similar symptoms. Internal Tremor and External Tremor is one example for proving the above statement. At which stage we will include internal tremor or external tremor during repertorization.

Parkinsonism: A generic term referring to clinical findings similar to Parkinson's disease, but occurring in variety of other neurological disorders. Parkinsonism is a disease and has variety of symtpoms. These includes;Depression, Fatigue, Weakness, Joint Pain, Internal tremor, Anxiety, Impaired recent memory, Oily face or scalp, Drooling, Constipation, Bladder urgency, Soft hoarse speech, Sleep disturbances, Restless legs
The difference in internal and external is internal tremor will appear first. External tremor is the next step. You can ask this question to your patient. Do you ever feel a tremor inside your body that cannot be seen by others? If he/she says “Yes”. Then he/she is suffering with internal tremor. Internal Tremor may be a sign of parkinsonism disease but not necessary. Internal tremor is a symptom relating to so many diseases.

Internal tremor generally occurs in brief episodes lasting less than half an hour and with a frequency of several times per week. External Tremor is the conformation of a disease. Friends and colleagues can see this symptom.

If internal tremor is due to parkinsinism then a remedy has fruitful effect i.e oxalic acid. Some time it covers the tissue destruction of cerebellum. While simple internal tremor has many remedies.

If internal tremor is due to adrenaline glandular disorder then lach is the best.
