I have seen many cases of people with unusual sexual "appetites" let's say - masochism, group sex, sadism, piercing - and have used remedies like Lyssin, Anacardium, Cuprum, Medorrhinum, Veratrum. Just happens Platina never came up for them.
My point with the rubric is that it is unclear what was meant by including Platina. The proving does not suggest why except for the excessive sexual desire. Does anyone know what or who the reference is for its inclusion?

My understanding of the "perversions" in the remedy Platina apply throughout the picture--not just to the sexual sphere. There is definitely a "skewed" perspective of just about everything in this remedy--so it is natural that the sexual aspects will manifest some of the pathology reflecting that nature.
For example: the nymphomania/satyriasis in the remedy does not arise out of a desire for gratification and pleasure, or an appetite for sensual experience for the sake of pleasure or union with another person or just political or sexual play, as it does in remedies like Medorrhinum, for example. Instead, this is a compulsion in Platina--the sexual organs experience a great deal of pain and intolerable sensitivity in this remedy. It is as if there is a joyless need to experience or express this--often with consequences that are detrimental to the self-esteem...which leads right back to that "perverse" perception---haughtiness in the remedy compensating for deep feelings of self-hatred arising from feelings of utter debasement and worthlessness. Platinas can be extremely self-centred and disdainful of others--because they are so disdainful and contemptuous of themselves as well. The actual desire for anal intercourse in this remedy also has a reason: remember that Platina has a hatred of his/her own children, as well as a dislike of children in general. Once apon a time, anal intercourse was considered a viable method of birth control. THAT is the reason the desire is recorded as a symptom in this remedy--because, again, it is not as if there is any real pleasure to be gained from the act by the person who needs Platina as a remedy. Instead, the great motive behind it is the need to avoid conception. Perhaps at one time this desire, in a woman, would have been considered aberrant or perverse. So, I'm not quite sure that a person who has a fetish of some kind isn't expressing more of a Medorrhinum-like tendency for the exotic, or particular, pleasure. In any case, any remedy can be "obsessive" about any kind of thing, but its important to understand where that obsessiveness comes from, and why it exists, in order to differentiate between remedies. "Physical symptoms disappear as mental symptoms develop" - William BOERICKE MM on platina.
So in my view, the sexual perversion may not always be physically manifested, possibly pervasive thoughts/emotions/desire could be dwelling in the mind only.
