I guess that's why one of our assignments this semester involves preparing an information booklet to give to our patients. I know that even as a student, it would have helped me for my homoeopath to have handed me something like that. The more well-informed our patients are, the better. At least they'll understand a bit better about how important observation is.

I would have thought that every practitioner should have their own information sheet/booklet readily available for all of their patients. It is certainly a requirement of the course that I was on previously in the UK.
Hence, there should be no reason for anyone to publish or make available their own, should there?

Since I learned homeopathy many years before the use of LMs came into general practice and several years before the 6th edition was published, I am struggling to incorporate them into my practice. If someone already has something written down that would help my clients, I don't see any reason to 'reinvent the wheel'. I have read David Little's information and the 6th edition. I have instructions written down and I go over them in my office, but it's obvious to me that my explanations are not sufficient for them to really understand when to repeat the remedy.

My first homeopath had a booklet that I almost memorized, but I was one of those chronically ill, highly motivated patients.
I think the idea of sharing pamphlets between practicioner is an excellent idea. When I taught, teachers often shared lesson plans, etc and found that collectively, we invented a better mousetrap. Best to all! *edit because I can't spell!* [ 22. August 2002, 04:28: Message edited by: Lynn_King ] |

OK - my info booklet is due in class next week, and there are 17 others being handed in as well. We are including a referral list of practitioners of other modalities, particularly counsellors, support groups etc. I'm happy to publish a synopsis of what we all come up with, if the others are fine with it. Then everyone on the BB can contribute their ideas and experiences, and hopefully we can come up with something foolproof and definitive.
Just give me a week to get it all together... |
