This is written in the code of ethics for the Society of Homeopaths.
I tell the patient what the remedy is only if asked. In my experience not many patients are interested in what the remedy is - only that it works !!! |

Ruthmanna,
I think the answer is quite clear. Some my respectable members responded very well . I agree with them. I am not pure practitioner, i am coming here for job. But have good previous professional background of CAM. When the patient will leave from clinic. When the patient asked for it. Then I will handover all therapeutic detail.

In india, no trend of handing over prescription slip to patient. I only see children under age 12 and ladies. They never demanded from me any prescription. My clinic is in my sitting room. Limited access to general public.
I generally maintain a register of patient's record. Medcines are placed near my wheel chair in racks. I have no dispensor. My practice is based on only 100 potencies.

I always tell my patient what I give as a remedy, and why. I also tell the patient about the changes we hope to see take place, too. I also always write out the dosing schedule and make sure the patient reads it and understands it. The one time I didn't take the trouble to do this, one of my patients took a daily dose of Carc 200c until she came down with the first flu she'd ever suffered in her life, despite the fact that my written instructions were for her to take only one dose and wait.
No need to keep a patient wondering...or make that patient resentful or suspicious. If I feel the need to give a placebo, I label the vial with Sac Lac or a short form of the remedy I've given, with a bogus potency number beside it (like LacMut 25xcm). But the need for placebo doesn't arise very often. Divina
