I just started seeing a new homeopath in NYC and he has me on a remedy. Three pellets the first night and then one pellet ever morning for about two weeks and then get back to him. He did not tell me the remedy and at this point I said fine for I know I would have looked it up etc. If I am still feeling the same with no improvement yet can I call him and say something or do I wait the full two weeks and then see him again to tell him. I would normally wait but since I am in more of a chronic state of not feeling well with ear pain and migraines and right eye strain am I still supposed to wait. I am trying to just relax and wait it out but I don't feel so well. Normally if I was just going for an overall constitutional remedy and not in pain I would wait. I do think it is better that I saw someone in person but he was my last choice of someone to see. I had several homeopaths talk to me for over 20 minutes and were really understanding and nice and two that were recommended but they were all going on vacation so in the state I was in on friday seeing someone on Saturday was very helpful. I could not wait.

Also just wondering about computers that the homeopaths use... does that just make there job easier. When I see the detail that some people go into on here to find the correct remedy and then I see a guy using his computer to find a remedy I wonder are the people on here using the same kind of tools?

Well that is all just a question. I do feel a little more calm today than last friday but the migraines that I got from The Ars have left me taking pain killers still and I wonder if I shouldjust wait out the two weeks or call the homeopath back.

Danielle,
You should be posing these questions to your new homeopath. You need to establish a trust with him so that you can learn to have cofidence in his treatments. If he is not willing or unable to answer some of your questions in a satisfactory manner, you may want to post here. I hope everything goes well for you and wish you a speedy recovery.

Every homeopath I know uses a computer. With all the new remedies and the time constraints, it would be almost impossible to prescribe successfully and also make a living at it now days without a computer. It should not affect how the case is taken or analysed, only the time necessary to look up the rubrics and compare the remedies that come up.

I probably should give him a call but I was wondering if I am not giving the remedy a chance to work. I am used to now having aggravations from a remedy and I feel nothing, which is good but I still have pain. I will probably give him a call at the end of the week but was just wondering. I'm also now used to LM's and he did not give me that. So I guess this is all new and thats all.

Thanks

I just want to clarify my comments about the use of a computer. I'm not saying that to be a good homeopath you need to use a computer. Just that the ones I know in the area where I live would have a hard time making a living, with insurance reimbursement being what it is, if we weren't able to speed up some of the repertorization with a computer. And I do believe that a number of the homeopaths on the BB use computers, but there are probably an equal number who do not.

Will Taylor wrote a good comparison of the computer programs and the reason why they are useful. http://www.homeoint.org/articles/taylor/software.htm

I've had the opportunity to discuss the value of computer analysis with Will Taylor.... he is brilliant with this tool(s).... he also has considerable knowledge of Materia Medica... my concern is that this tool is easily abused by lazy homeopaths, lacking in real knowledge of Materia Madica, who prescribe by the 'numbers'...Denise

Dear Danielle,

You don't owe the new homeopath anything. If you're not satisfied with his treatment because you're still in pain, and if the other homeopaths that you liked a lot more are currently available, give them a call. You should be in the hands of someone you really trust.

Still, it may take more than one attempt to help you. Speak to your homoeopath about it asap. I always appreciate feedback from my patients, even when they are unhappy.

It is important not to jump from practitioner to practitioner too quickly. I sometimes find that it is the follow up appointment that gives me the best information.

Thanks Snoopy... I need to give him a call for my ear hurts like hell and this remedy I don't think is doing anything. I will let him tell me what is next. I was in so much pain today I was gonna go to the nurse at my company for I though, what is going on??? I felt like I have an ear infection but I was checked out and found not to have one.
I will go for an MRI on Thursday but in the meantime need to call my homeopath and let him know I am in pain. I would have like to see the homeopath you recommended but I don't want to jump around and secondly this guy was expensive and I still owe him money for the first visit. I guess some homeopaths are better than others and to be honest I did not get any impression from this guy at all as to weather I thought he was good. I was just in pain and he said he would take me on a Saturday. I said great!

Well again thanks for this sight and for people being here to respond.
