Help with an acute for my peanut please.

She went swimming in a neighbors pool on Sunday (she is 3) with her dad. The pool was filtered and had chlorine in it. On monday she had developed a very slight, rash with tiny bumps of her back, trunk and face and around her ears. It was not bad and she gets prickly heat so I assumed that was it. Later monday she began saying her ear was itchy and was sticking her finger in it (left ear). This wasn't to bad, just periodically sayinmg it every once in awhile. She also began itching her rash. Tuesday until today the rash has gotten worse and itchy. It is small, tiny bumps all over her but the worst on her face, ears, upper back and neck. When she scratches the area gets red. Her ear started to discharge blood and she was complaining of her ear hurting and itching so I checked in it with my scope and it appears to not be the ear drum but that the canal had a scab that got scratched off (I may be wrong). In the canal was a lot of whitish discharge and a lot of thick balled up yellow waxy stuff. There was an odor to her ear as well that reminded me of when our dog used to get ear infection. Just a foul odor. She is a little whinier and crabbier but not to bad and it doesn't bother her when I look in her ear. She is much more itchy tonight after a bath and having trouble falling to sleep. The wax/pus is so thick in her left ear that you can not see the ear drum at all. She is also complaining of her right ear itching too. She has been eating and drinking fine. Getting up a little earlier than normal and the ear pain is worse from drinking and right when she wakes up in the morning or after her nap.

Thank you
Barb

Barb,

Sorry to hear about the little one's problem. Can't help but sure someone (yoo, Snoopy, it's not even midnight yet) will soon. Just wanted to say how impressed I am about your talent with the otoscope. I can't see a thing with mine. Feel a fool about that. Have been saying for years that if I just had a good one, I'd be able to cure these cat ear problems. Got a really good one as a gift and am so ashamed. I can't figure out what the heck I'm looking at! I see nothing with it. Have to say things like "ah hah, so that's what's going on"........so no one will know I can't see a thing.

Hope M is feeling better very soon.

Geez, I haven't even done the dishes yet!

Barb, have you thought of Sulphur? I mean, the itching, rash, worse bathing, red color, ear pain < swallowing, yellow discharge, bad-smelling...I don't know, it's the best I can do unless someone can come up with a, dare I say it, PECULIAR symptom!

gpm - I am just impressed that you can pronounce otoscope - I had tolook at your post to spell it. Thats why I just refered to it as "the scope" I have a rinky dink cheap one and I imagine looking into kitties ears is quite different than looking into Miss M's ear - she will lie down for me and turn her head and let me fiddle in there as long as I need to without a complaint, or turning her head, she just says "be careful mommy".

Ps. I had told my eldest about you one day when she was intruiged by a black squirrel we saw walking in our little forest preseve area. She later drew a picture of you surrounded by your squirrels and kitties. You had squirrels in your pockets and they were dressed in little vests. I would have tried to email it but our scanner is dead.

I repped and sulf was first BUT I have such a "predjudice" against sulph cause you know it comes up all the time. I hate to use it cause of that. hmmm, gonna have to get over that I suppose.

Thanks

OK, let's see....What makes it better or worse?
We know it's < bathing, so we should assume it's worse warm bathing, right?

Better or worse from scratching?

Worse heat of the bed?

Does the rash burn when scratched? She's probably too young to tell you.

Oh, let's face it! It's probably sulphur.

On the other hand Barb, I just looked up Chlorum
Aqua, and what should I find? Nettle rash!
I suggest you potentize the pool water!

But try sulphur first.

On second thought, Barb? It's obviously the pool water. I wouldn't waste my time with Sulphur.
One drop of pool water in 99 drops of water, succuss 100 times, pour most of it out, fill it back up, succuss 100 times, pour most of it out, fill it back up, succuss 100 times, and you've got a 3C. I think that should be enough. put a few drops into a cup of water, stir, drink; 3 times a day for 3 days, see what happens.
