Funny, that previously on this board, I have been criticized for using too much allopathy and now I am being criticized for not using enough allopathy??

You say I wasted everyone's time because the homeopathy they were prescribing was dependent on subsequent allopathic treatments?

You sir are definitely not a believer in homeopathy and you should stop your half hearted practicing of such!

If God knows better, why do we interfere in the first place? With the way most of humanity feels about the "afterlife", I have to wonder what all the fuss is about dying in the first place?

I am furthermore appalled by the arrogance of human-kind, to suppose, that "human" ethics be the standard for ALL species. This old cat, in the cat world would have been killed by another cat, or starved to death or would have become another animal's prey, long before she reached the state we had found her in. It may sound harsh, but this is the feline world and it is what they understand and accept. (In my opinion it is the failure of humans to accept feline values that is the sole contributory factor in the realm of feline "behavior" problems in our companion animals).

The "old" in a feline colony ARE a burden and a liability to the rest of the pride, it is unnatural for the old to stick around making a “target” out of everyone. You told me not to shut these old timers into a retirement home of sorts -you do know we are talking about CATS here...????? The fact that I do run somewhat of a "Seniors Home For Cats" is a great bonus to them, believe me.

Still (although I am by no means "happy" about it) I make no apologies for treating the young/healthy a little more agresively than the old -it is survival of the fittest in an overpopulated world. I also make no excuses, nor do I hesitate to abort the kittens of a pregnant female in favour of a cat in her prime. These are difficult decisions to make but entirely logical.

I do not run a "Health Centre", it is a "Homeless Shelter".

Each life is important and each death is EQUALLY important (or did your teacher not teach you anything of the ethics of palliative care and dying with dignity?). It is under this premise, that we chose to take this cat instead of allowing her to become another statistic (thanks gpm for your post!). We offer help and comfort when no one else has the stomach for it. We face our challenges and we accept the consequences of our decisions, we clean up after the gutless pet owners who "can't possibly look after their ONE animal anymore" (please imagine a whine....). For all the animals we take, We are the light on a very dark path.

Finally, are you telling me that if you had a patient that required a costly procedure in order to save his life and that patient had no way to pay for it, the hospital was not going to pay for it, the government was not going to pay for... the only way the procedure could be done was if YOU paid for it; you are telling me that you would see your family starve (or whatever) in order to save your patient? How many patients would you be able to help before you couldn't afford to practice anymore? 1, 5 maybe 10? Do you not posses any reason or logic??? I can't believe you have any education whatsoever, your posts are nothing but pure nonsense!

Dear Kkrista,
Its very easy for people to pass judgements and moralise so just let it get past you.

I think all right thinking poeple appreciate every little effort you put into these poor animals and your commitment and love for them inspite of the circumstances.

Lets just ignore the short sighted.
Warm regards,
Dr. Leela

Young, smartly dressed, obviously well off, young mother, her shiny, private school kids in tow, approaches the desk with a cardboard box containing 5 gorgeous kittens, ready for weaning. She wants to "give" them to the shelter so those (low pay, hard working) people can find a "nice" home for them. Asked why she allowed her female to have a litter, she says with a large smile...."so they could experience the miracle of birth"! We always turn to the kids and ask if they would now like to join us in the back room and experience the miracle of death.

Pontificating is great, M Iqbal. Now come on over, give Krista and the thousands like her, free homeopathic care and the money to do all that you think should be done...........then you will have actually made a statement of value.
