It's the London School of Classical Homeopathy that Sheilagh also teaches at Tel: (0)20 8360 8757. She takes most of the monthly philosophy lectures through all four years of the part-time course. Regards Esme |

pleased you had that answer esme, as i didn't.
denise, i think perhaps the devon correspondence course is better than the attendence. when i attended there was lack of cohesion in my course, regardless of the baron von b. to answer the more personal side of the replies, i don't think my failure with the methods i learnt was either because i lacked intellect or because i lack[ed] enthusiasm for the estoric. like claudia i was and am personally drawn to the estoteric -it can be fun and engaging - but the main point i came to realise is that homoeopathy is the scientific system that hahnemann brought together with genius from a rag-bag of estoeric teachings from the middle ages and further back in history. and if we re-introduce the occult to the practice of homoeoapthy we take a backward step from what hahnemann did in formulating all the prior observations by paracelsus etc into a logical repeatable system. lila - my perception of what has happenned since hahnemann collected together the principles of homoeopathy, and made the provings, is that the scientific, logical aspects have been eroded. now, when you go to a homoeopath in the uk, they might prescribe for you a remedy that rather than matching the symptoms of your disease with those of a proving, match some aspect of your life with a speculative 'remedy picture' not derived from authentic provings. or a mixture of your life and your disease, with a mixture of proving and specultaive data. in the uk, i don't know if there is much difference between the schools since they all come from the same root of the two druids, except perhaps the 'practical college' at which they teach methods hahnemann directly opposed in his lifetime. david little runs a good correspondence course - i don't know if he takes apprentices. but a year with him in the foothills of the himalya sounds so good it would be worth badgering him to see if you could. chris is a contributor to this bb who studies with david little - perhaps chris will turn up with some more info. otherwise do a google search for david little - the website is called something like 'minutus' i think. good luck. |
