I have had an ear ache for a about 8 days. When the pain first started the nurse at my company saw fluid in my ear. She said I did not have an infection. She gave me allergy medicine and Sudifed to dry up the fluid and it seemd to do the trick. Then the day after I was feeling better I started having a different type of ear pain. The pain turned from a more dull pain to a then sharp shooting pain that started to feel like fire coming out of my ear. I went to three doctors who could not find anything wrong with me and I was then given Viox (anti inflamitory) and had to call back the doctor for a stronger pain killer. After 8 days the pain is still there but today not like fire in my ears just more of a ear pain or ache in the ear. I also went through the fear of what could this be if it's just not n ear ache and became fearful and thought I was gonna die. I could not seperate the ear pain from the rest of my body. ANd the constant pain left me so fearfull that I was not eating or sleeping alone. I freked my friends out for they never saw me so afraid. I thought the worst was gonna happen to me. I am currently not on homeopathy butstill have many remedies in my house. The doctor gave me drugs for my anxiety but I refused to take the drugs. I then went into my homeopathy books and looked up remedies for ear aches and fear of dying. I felt like I would never get back to work and that I wouold loose my job and that I would become homeless from not being able to go back to work. I found three remedies that i red work well together and I took them. Aconti 30c , Arnica 30c and a dose of sulphur LM1 (that was all I had.) It worked for the fear and i was able to get up and leave the house. The next dy I felt so much better and thought i was on the road to recovery but then that night again the pain came back. I was still taking the Viox that the doctor gave me and I guess when it wore off the pain came back. At night time things seem to be worse and I have more fear than. Well lst night on my way to bed in stead of tking anpother pain killer I looked up some more stuff in my book I have (Practical Homeopathy) and found Pustillia as a remedie that might be good to take. SO I took a dose 30c before bed instead of the pain killer and in the morning woke up to much less paim. I could still tell my ear felt sore but the pain was not as intense. I took another 30c dose this morning and then an hour later a dose of 200C. I feel very upbeat and happy but still have the pain. I went and had a cat scan done of my head because the doctor wanted to see what was going on. He didn't want tpo give me antibiotics when he didn't see an infection but said the pain could be residual pain from when I had some fluid in my ear. AFter 8 days I feel mentally much more sound and not fearfull but still have ear pain.. I will be going back to work on monday and am now here up in my friend apartment using her computer to post this guestion. I don't want to take antibiotics but feel if I can not get rid of this pain I will have no choice.

Please stop trying to treat yourself homeopathically as you may end upworse than when you started.

Find a local professional classical homeopath to take a full case history and prescribe a single remedy for you.

I understand what you are saying but I have not been seeing one for a few months. Some one on here was helping me but I can only e-mail her from my computer at work ffor I do not have a computer at home and am using a friends right now. I am in a bit of a bind right now and in pain. Taking the remedies that I have taken helped me with the fear I was having but I still have the ear pain. I thought I could get a little help on here or some suggestions until I get to work tomorrow.

Assuming that there are no underlying causes for your earache you could try Kali Mur 6x, 4 tablets three times daily. This is a tissue salt remedy that is good for fluid in the ears. If the pain is throbbing in nature, Belladonna 30c, 1 tab twice daily until symptoms begin to improve may be beneficial. If the pain is sharp, think of Hepar Sulph 30c using the same regime, especially if there is a pussy discharge from the ears. As Ricky has mentioned, you should really see a homoeopath, but if this is not possible, these are a few homoeopathic remedies to try. As always, you should keep in touch with your doctor.

I'm really proud of you the way you were able to come up with those fear remedies and were able to go back out and resume your normal life.

We could use some more information here. What makes it better or worse? For instance, lying on the painful side, cold air, draft of air, chewing, cold applications; what time of day or night is it worse, does the pain extend anywhere? Better or worse lying in bed? Better from rubbing?
Worse from swallowing? Any concomitants?
Does warmth make a difference? Rubbing? Is there water in the ear? Any change in food or drink desires?

If there's water in the ear, do try kali mur.

I'm feeling a little better today and the pain is very dull and seems to be leaving me. I still need to address my fear and anxiety for the long run because in the last year I have been full of anxiety and fear over issues that I have had a hard time dealing with on my own. Mostly health related. Chris Gillen has been helping me but I did take a break from homeopathy for a while just to take a break. But after seeing how much it helped me this last weekend I feel it could help me long term with my fear and anxiety. The doctor wants to put me on medication (anti anxiety) medication but I don't feel like I want to go that route. My mother is mentially ill and my sister is too so it runs in the family. So is my grandmother, and my mothers brothers family also has issues. So I know I probably have an imbalance somewhere and am now ready to address it. I just hope I can do it homeopathically. Thank you all for your help and I now KNow I need to get a computer at home for times like this! Chris guillen e-mailed me this morning so I am grateful for that. She had already discussed treating my fear and anxiety so hopefully now I can address this. I'm sure once I treat this it will help me out in other areas of my life too.

The ear pain is now dull but there but no so much pain just there. I don't know if that makes any sense. I just know it's a very dull sensatition and I'm not sure if it's just running it's course or if I need another remedie to get me to the end.
Buut I shall wait to hear back from chris.

Thanks Snoppy and everyone for your help. I am a believer in homeopathy again after needing help just to get out of my house and out of panic mode. People think homeopathy is crazy and want me on drugs and I say no way! Homeopathy is a blessing and it works.

I still do have a very mild dull pain that is not shooting or burning. Just a dull pain that feels like the beginning or ending of an ear infection. That is really it. IT doesn't feel like the left ear so I know I still have pain but it is dull but still there if that makes any sense. I don't know if it will go away by it's self or if I should take something for the pain. I would go to the helth food store at lunch if someone had a suggestion for Chris will probably not get back to me until later or tomorrow morning due to time difference.

The pain is a dull ache.
