My friend has an abcess beneath her two lower front teeth. This developed last weekend and she went to a clinic and was given penicillin for it. Her last dose of pen was yesterday and she still has swelling and tenderness in the gum. She wants to try a remedy, but I am unsure of how to approach repertorizing this because of the antibiotics. Direction and suggestions, anyone?
Thanks! As always, Lynn |

It is due to infection. Give one dose of Bell (1m) in high potency and then Hep Sulph 30 in frequent doses. You can also give mag phos 6x in biochemic form in warm waater with hep sulph in short interval of time.

Dear Hoppitt,
Actually, high potencies are good matches for acutes, with the idea that you're fighting force with force. Acutes are often sudden and violent and it helps to match their power when choosing a potency. However, even having said that, the right remedy in a 30 or 200C is almost always sufficient. The 30 may need repeating, as I think Ricky said; but, I would save my 1M in case my 30 or 200C stopped working. I wouldn't play my high card right off the bat, so to speak. And then as far as chronic disease is concerned, low potencies repeated often tend to be a more appropriate choice, as their action is more in tune with the creeping progression of a chronic case. With abscesses, I've seen Mercury, Hepar, Silica and Nitric Acid work. I don't know why you'd have to give more than one remedy at a time. If you pick a remedy, and you start to notice a change within a few hours, why would you change remedies? Snoopy |

I gave my friend Hep S 30C, one dose dry yesterday afternoon as it seemed to best fit the sx at the time. When I saw her this morning for our morning walk, she told me that the lump behind her teeth has reduced in size by half and the front of the gums aren't as sore as they had been.
Since the remedy appears to be the similimum, should I repeat the dose today and if yes, should it be repeated dry, or disolved in water and succussed? Or, should we continue to watch the remedy's action and wait? Thanks all! Lynn |

Ricky makes a good point; and yes, do put it in water if another dose is needed, and if a further dose is needed, succuss or stir vigorously to ensure that the doses continue to be effective.
Congratulations on finding the right remedy! Snoopy |

Hi, very glad your found the remedy, I wish I were that lucky, If you remember in May, I had a cyst on neck that was draing, and painful lower teeth. I tried 200 Silic, and 30 Bell and Fer.Phos. it didnt work. Memorial day my face on side of cyst and tooth swelled up like and apple in my mouth and very painful, and of course holiday weekend could not get a dentist. I took loads of Arnica 200c, ice packs, etc. only got worse, tried to concentrate but couldnt finlly dentist phoned back and had to go on antibiotics much to myregret, as it was going up my jaw near ear. After taking 70 tabs of 200mg, the swelling went down, and 6/25 just had it pulled.and dentist said there was pus under the tooth yet. with all the stress my pressure went to l70 and pulse 50, with back dullness and tired feeling. I then took Aconite 30 twice yesterday and once today and now feeling good enough that I think i will go dancing tomorrow nite. If the Aconite didnt work I was going to get Arsen.30. Thought I would pass this info on in case it would help others with sudden high blood pressure from stress. normally my pressure is like a teenager and at 85 I was always glad to know that, but this stress couldnt keep me as a teenager, ha, ha.
