How interesting! Although no one has responded as yet to my post of Sept. 7 (dental problems: cavities, infection) I find a discussion from June that may be helpfull!

Several remedies were suggested: Hep S 30c by Lynn King and Mercury, Hepar, Silica and Nitric Acid from Snoopy. Question is,which should I try?
And since I posted, I woke up this morning with another area affected; 3 small, red openings and pain in the area of my gums where the dentist probed to measure the depth of the pockets.

As I stated in my earlier post, I'm apprehensive about infection being released with the root planing that is starting tomorrow. Should I be taking an antibiotic or could I try a homeopathic remedy to deal with what seems like infection in more than one area; and that will be released over the period of time it takes to do the root planing one quadrant at a time-probably a week or so apart. If I remember correctly, this new area of irritation is where I had a root canal several years ago. I have read that sometimes infection sets in at the site of a root canal and antibiotics don't effectively deal with it as there is no way for the antibiotic to reach the site. Has anyone heard this? If this is true, wouldn't homeopathy be best, anyway?

I'd like to avoid antibiotics, if I can; much prefer remedies, if they will work! As I mentioned in my earlier post, I can buy up to 30c strength without a rx; but my Naturopath would probably prescribe something higher if I emailed her this thread with your recommendations.

Please...any help appreciated; as this is a chronic problem that is now acute.
