I Wonder how important is color blindness while taking down case. Is there any rubric for it. Does color blindness mean any other symptomatic disorder on the mental and physical level.

Good question. Although I have never used it to direct me. Nor has my homeopath. Unless its a huge part of the picture, I would not think it would be the "key". -K

Hi,
Is that the only input i get for the query. Me think that the question holds no relevance to homeopathy....

Hi Valerian,

It's more likely that nobody knows. I just did a search in CARA and found numerous remedies with that rubric, so it's probably used just like any other rubric.

Color blindness is a genetic disorder. Is there any possiblity that our remedy could change DNA structure.

Well, here goes. Is the 'colour blindness' reflected in other aspects of the case? For example, does this person see things in a very 'black and white' way? Does this say something about their mental symptoms?

I don't have experience in treating people with this symptom but I am wondering if some lateral thinking might help as I thought it was an interesting question and was surprised that you got so few answers.

Therese Hi,
Thanks! for rephrasing what i meant to ask.
I hope some of the accomplished folks here put on their Six Thinking Hats and give some lateral inputs based on their experience and knowledge.

Therese,
Your comment to "black and white" triggers my post here. Color blind people do not see the world as if it were a black and white TV. It is certain colors they are unable to detect, or confuse, such as red and green. There are various kinds of color blindness.

As to the question whether or not to consider it in casetaking, I'm not certain. I can imagine to take it into consideration like I would other genetic history. Depends on the case I'd say.

Thanks for the comment. I did know about red/green colour blindness but was trying to think what it must feel like to not be able to distinguish red and green. Maybe a lot of the visual nuances that most of us take for granted are missing. I don't know as I have not had the opportunity to ask someone and the problem is that the patient would probably not recognise this because it's always been this way.

However, I am interested and wonder if the 'silence' means that nobody has treated a patient with colour blindness or whether it has not been very important in the case.
Best wishes, Therese

I am color blind and have never had that be a key for prescribing for me by my own homeopath. I see shades of color, but usually can't label it "blue" or "green". It only looks more blue or green. Not defined. I see red fine, but I am female and we typically aren't color blind at all. Just lucky, I guess. -K
