Hi Trooper.
Homeopathy can be very evry effective for the shingles and the thrush you posted in the other thread. To treat a person using homeopathically we need much more info than just the name of the condition. For instance, how does the shingles manifest itself? describe the look, feeling, etc. Is it red, raised, hot? Is the area burning, itchy, neuralgic pains. What makes the condition better or worse? How is the patients mental state with regards to the condition? Are they angry, self-pitying, cross? Having said this, If your grandmother's health is poor or her vitality is low due to her age, illness etc. I would recommend you see a homeopath in person. If that is not possible then post the needed info and the homeopaths will see what they can do. Similar info will be needed to determine the remedy for the baby too. But also describe the babies nature, the pregnancy, birth, is mom breastfeeding? What is her diet like?

Good suggestion, Dr. S. Rhus tox 30C in water, one swallow, wait and see if there are any results. You shouldn't have to wait longer than 3 days. If nothing happens as a result, you can try Nat-mur. Meanwhile, of course, you can answer Barb's questions.

What are these remedy choices being based on? 'Shingles' is a diagnosis...there have been no symptoms presented. I have experienced shingles myself and was treated homeopathically with success. The remedy choices were made according to my symptoms (my chronic and finished with another) which is the only way to prescribe a homeopathic remedy. Misapplied homeopathy is irresponsible and dangerous in any dilution...especially for an elder who may not have the vital force to deal with an aggravation/proving... Denise

Denise,
If it's dangerous for her, then even the perfectly prescribed remedy could be dangerous, because we don't know her sensitivity, and won't know until she takes a remedy and we observe her reaction. A 10M would be really irresponsible, but one dose of a 30C in water, if that's irresponsible, then the stores are irresponsible for selling them to the public, and the pharmacies are irresponsible for marketing them, and our best homeopaths are irresponsible for writing self-prescribing books and expecting people to treat themselves for these conditions. I do think all those situations you talk about ARE irresponsible.... and result in misapplied homeopathy. You can buy amonia in the grocery store....it can still kill you if you don't know how to use it... Denise |
