If you look to the left under my user name, you will see a photo of King's College, Cambridge.

You can now add a small graphic below your user name should the fancy take you!

It is called (for reasons I know not) an 'avatar', which I believe is a Hindu word meaning 'incarnation' (is that right?).

Anyway, if you go to 'My Profile' and click on View Profile, you can choose from over 200 pictures, or link to your own via a URL. For the cognoscenti, the picture size is 48x48 pixels.

Remember to update your profile once you have chosen a pcture for the choice to be effective. You can change the picture at will.

Ricky - it can be a GIF or JPG, but must be sitting on Webspace on a server accessible via a URL - most accounts these days give you some personal webspace, just upload it there and enter the full address in the 'My Profile' section.
