Dear GPM,
Well recently it seems calling oneself a homeopath can be persumptuous! We need to use the term Therapy (Even Hahnemann used Hahnemann - Therapy) and the term homeopath is only for the select few.

We'll wait to hear from Kkrista.

No apologies needed. Just thought I'd cheer you up about what is a distinct possibility in the future, once people learn to drop their prejudices for the sake of the suffering!
Hope you're looking after yourself.

Sorry I haven't posted. I should have given some background into the cat. He was from the sorriest looking bunch of feral kittens I had evre seen. His sister died early on from a bowel related problem. His 2 brothers went on to develope problems relating to urinary tract health and chronic stomitis. This particular cat was noticibly unwell at 8 weeks, at this age already he had horrible gingivitus and stomitus. The litter was repeatedly tested for FIV and FeLV but were always negative.

This cat underwent 4 major dentistries (starting at 6 months) and was completely toothless and in renal failure by the age of 4 years. Removing all the teeth did put the renal failure in remission, but by this time his function was probably 20%. He did pretty well for the next 4 years on a natural diet.

A year ago he started to produce hyper thyroid symtoms but when tested was apparently OK. This is when he was started on Kali c (Iodium also came up)and a regular subQ fluid regiment, and he appeared to respond and I've been paliating his condition during the year. However when we checked thyroid we did find that the depleted kidney function had taken its toll over the years and was now affecting his heart (his heart has been racing for pretty much a year now), he also became anemic at this time. So his condition today is not at all unexpected. Perhaps if he was able to have had a kidney transplant years ago...
but thats a whole other ball of wax.

Anyways he has made it to 9 years, which is incrediable in itself and at this point I am just trying to "manage" his death.

I'm now fairly confident that he did suffer somewhat of a minor stroke on saturday. I didn't have Iodium on hand and only had acon200 which I was a little leary to use in his weakened state.

I stayed up with him most of the night and yesterday. Last night he started to regain his strength and co-oridination (walking around, taking small sips of water and a bit of food)(he did have Kali c LM4 the morning before his stroke). I had meant to have him euthanized this morning but don't feel right about it if he is regaining strength on his own. However I do believe it will be shortlived, because his appetite is now starting to wain. He has also developed fluid in his limbs (mostly paws)and his heart is still racing. I've put his clinic on standby, I just hate this waiting but I don't want to rush him, I want him to be comfortable when he does go.

I have been thinking about giving him a dose of 30ch ars (fluid retention, thirst, heart)but not sure if it is appropriate after a stroke?

Thanks again for all the guidence, I can get some acon 30 and iodium today if you think it still might be required.

Hi Kkrista,
I think Ars Iod may be a good choice for him, especially if he wants to walk around with all this.
Wow, you guys have a real eventful life! Its wonderful that this little kitty made it for 9 years.
Stroke his chin especially from me.

As expected Alfie didn't rally for long. This morning he became extremely restless and uncomfortable so I took him in to be put to sleep. His heart stopped after just 1/4 dose and he was gone very quickly. I'm sure gonna miss the little fella. Thanks for all your help during the crisis!!
