Hi,
I’m a student of the University of Connecticut in the USA. Part of my study is related to Anthropology and the power of healing. I was wondering if you would share your thoughts, why you decided to use homeopathy, instead of traditional biomedicine? Thank you Tom345 |

I have almost the same story. I had five allopathic physicians tell me there was nothing more they could do and a friend suggested homeopathy. I was cured almost instantaneously. That was 1978 and I've never looked back. If you want the details, you can e-mail me privately.

Dear Tom,
I think there's not a single one of us who wasn't brought up on standard medicine. Sometimes you get great results, and I have probably many times thanked God for Valium; but, what standard medicine is really good at, besides surgery and life-saving techniques, is arriving at a diagnosis. But arriving at a diagnosis doesn't cure you. Modern medicine has no principles, no hypothesis about cure. (Our hypothesis is the Law of Similars) Their only goal is symptom-management. Often they will manage a person's symptoms while the person's health declines. They don't feel they have any responsibility for that; because, the blood pressure is under control, or the tumor is shrinking, and the fact that the person is becoming apathetic or debilitated is irrelevant--it's not their job, not what they were assigned to take care of. All of us here, I dare say, are not just into homeopathy. I'm sure we are all educated about the main source of ill health in western society, which is our diet--denatured foods; foods with all the fiber removed, the germ removed from the wheat for the sake of longer shelf life. We all know that the fast-food diet is just empty calories. Our diets are full of white sugar--a poison. It destroys calcium and the B vitamins...it's a mischief-maker in the body. I don't think any of us would counsel a person to deal with his health problem by taking a homeopathic remedy without pointing out that the cooked-food/white sugar/white flour diet he's on is most surely responsible or contributing to his ill health. We're also familiar with tonic herbs, vitamin C, vitamin E and so forth, but I suppose we're the lucky ones who have also, in our reading, etc., found out about homeopathy; because homeopathy really can work miracles, and we've all seen and experienced it. Here's a typical scene: it's night, everything's closed, and your child is sick; crying; inconsolable. I feel sorry for the mothers who don't know homeopathy because many of them probably wind up in the emergency room in the middle of the night; but, we, with out home-remedy kits, and our acute prescribing books, look up the symptoms and give a remedy, and in minutes, everyone's back to sleep! (I must admit that one night it took me 5 hours to find the right remedy! But when I did, my daughter's face immediately went tranquil and she fell asleep.) I look forward to other people's replies; thanks for asking! Snoopy |

Thank you for all your good answers. I thought it would be much harder to start a discussion.
Questions: 1. Do you use primarily homeopathy for your medical problems? What is your start point? 2. What causes you to use homeopathy? Desperation, or positive experience? 3. Do you “mix” biomedicine medicine and homeopathy? Does your practitioner know about your “parallel” treatments? |

I have used only homeopathy for a few years (myself, my family, my animals) and been freed of many problems conventional medicine suggested I learn to live with...
I would allow conventional treatment for the 'mechanical' aspects of trauma... or in some emergency that required fluids or blood and possibly surgery if time was on deaths side (this is the short version of my veiw). It has been my observation that conventional medical practitioners are working in a conflict of interest..their intent most often is to practice a career, not to be a healer...in order to make their practice thrive it is not in their best interest to make their patients well and independant of them. In most cases I think it would be nonproductive to inform your 'conventional' doctor that you have thrown your meds away and replaced them with a remedy....NO, I do not have a conventional Dr. If I need emergency treatment the ER Dr will be most qualified during crisis and then I will go back to homeopathy...... In answer:
1. Yes, it is my starting point. I call my practitioner. 2. Both. When conventional medicine said I would have to live with my condition, I thought it ridiculous. After trying several different things, homeopathy worked. 3. No; on the advice of a few practitioners, I have decided to abstain from any conventional medication. The only time I would revert to western medicine is if I was in a car accident, or similar injurious situation, where "mechanical/surgical" repairs were required by a surgeon. Hi Tom,
To answer your 3 questions: 1. I only use homeopathy for my health problems and those of my family, for it is addressing the energies that allow us to live healthy or not. Orthodox medicine cannot do that, it is generally suppressive, driving the illness deeper into the physical body, creating more severe illness. 2. Common sense causes me to use homeopathy, as I perceive life to be more than the physical body. That is only the vehicle to express life in. There are many energies that govern life, illness etc. Homeopathy is able to access and influence these energies through energetic remedies. 3. I don't mix - that's against classical homeopathic guidelines. Rather I address my own fears and doubts as disturbance on the emotional level. - what practitioner ? Claudia
