I have had a problem with my kidney when i was 12 years old. The problem was identified as childhood glumerulo nephritis. I had to undergo 5 peritonial dialysis and was subsequently put on steroids for a brief period.

Now i am 30, and i am having an elevated blood pressure. The doctor said it is related to the scaring of the kidney i had, when i was 12.

I would like to know if there is any effective homeopathic medicines available to improve kidney functions and their availability. I live in the UK.

Cheers

Hi Jocob,

SOrry to hear about the glomerulonephritis. COuld you confirm a couple of things.
How long have you had hypertension?
HAve you had an ultrasound scan or CAT Scan of your kidneys done to confirm scarring?
HAve any renal function tests been done to prove any alteration in renal function at present?

With these answers, I could give you a better response to your questions.

Warm regards,
doctorleela

It would be preferable if you saw a professional classical homeopath in your area who would take a full case history and prescribe a remedy based on you as an individual as well as the kidney problems from childhood. If you wish to contact me via the Private Message icon at the top of my post and tell me where you live I may be able to recommend someone.

Good advice. The list of homoeopaths is also given at this Bulletin Board.

In my opinion, homoeopathy has low hope for your complains. You must not waste your time and consult to some allopath for your case management. Although it will be some injurious to you but less then homoeopathy for your specific case. After getting management again come to homeopathy for restoring your health completely.

Every body is refering their website for consultation. If you are interested then fill the questionaire and put you whole case here. We will be do something for your INSHA ALLAH.

May Allah bless you.

Dear Dr. Mujahid, I do not agree with you but there must certainly be strong reasons for the advice. Would you kindly elaborate?

Dr Mujahid's advice is contradictory - on the one hand saying that homoeopathy is unlikely to help this situation, and on another suggesting he take the case. A patient does not need this kind of manipulation when concerned about his health.

The case seems to me likely to be treatable by homoeopathy, but the patient must be sure to find a homoeopath who is genuinely competent, which is a challenge in the UK because the colleges do not teach Hahnemann's method of treating chronic diseases, nor the tools one needs to do so [Boenninghausen's TT, Boenninghausen's Concordances, the proving information in Chronic Diseases and the Materia Medica Pura etc.]

Self-treatment is certainly not an option with this condition, and the patient has to be prepared for treatment over some time.

Dear Anna,

Is this true? The colleges don't teach
Hahnemann's method of treating chronic disease?

Could you elaborate?

Snoopy

Snoopy, the colleges here teach Kentian prescribing [apart from the Practical College which teaches multiple remedy 'prescribing'], with all the guesswork that involves, repetition of dry doses, and bias towards the notion of a "constitutional remedy" and people's characters being symptoms for treatment.

A fundamental priciple in Hahnemann's treatment of chronic diseases is the distinction between antipsorics and non-antipsorics, which was not mentioned at my college.
In other words, the methodology taught by Hahnemann for treating chronic disease was omitted in four years teaching; the essential tools that he approved, such as the works by Boenninghausen and Jahr were overlooked.

The college I attended is considered one of the best in the UK. From what I have seen of other UK college graduates it is the same everywhere here.
I think it is probably the same worldwide although different teaching (equally unHahnemannian) prevails in India. This is why there are gurus in homoeopathy who fly around the world giving lectures about their latest "methods" and new remedies. The level of uncertainty amongst practitioners gives rise to the flocking to guru lectures in the hope of enlightenment. If we only sit down and study the fundamental texts we have no need of false gurus. A teacher in homoeopathy is one who sits beside us as we study the methods of Hahnemann for ourselves.

A competent Homeopath, meaning one who has experience taking cases to cure...regardless of his education, should be chosen for this case..for any case...I wonder why there is so much conflict between all these unpredjudiced observers? Denise
